get the 42" LG C2 for 1k guys

    • I've never really thought about using a TV as a monitor. Do you mean this model or is there a specific LG 42" computer monitor? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-42-c2-self-lit-oled-ev…

im using the LG C2 42" had it since release i came from a Alienware 34" ultrawide, its perfect. i even got stung paying 2k for it at release and im still very happy with it

however, i got a desky monitor stand to go with it to raise it up a bit for desktop use as without the stand i found i was looking down 2 much for windows taskbar.

A TV differs from a monitor in a number of ways. Primarily it won't wake from sleep or power on when you do your pc.

    • Hmm how would it run with a 3080, 32gb ddr5 5200mhz, and a 13th gen i5?

      I have a 6 year old 1440p, 165hz monitor

      • well thats what i use basically m8, a 3080 + 12900k
it gets 60-100fps on the new cod no prob. iv never had an fps issue with any game tbh, even cod i run at almost max settings and its about 80ish fps at a constant
you can also toggle a wide screen mode on it that will emulate an ultrawide, iv never used it tbh, i fell in love with with the picture right out of the box

for 1k it's so worth it. like holy (profanity) if it launched at that price id prob have gotten two of them

  • C2 prolly better at $700 less

  • I want the AW3821DW to be this price :(

    • I have owned both, and I'd prefer this over the AW38 even tho the vertical height on the AW38 does come in handy. The sheer picture quality alone on the QD-OLED is enough to buy it over the AW38. But I think most people now are waiting for the QD-OLED version of the AW38.

Saying that I have settled for a C2 42" and been using it for 7 months or so, and I can never go back to anything ultrawide, just feels like I am paying more for less screen.

      • Im getting old and my eye sight isnt the best ;P~

I have a 27" monitor and at times need to move my face closer to the monitor..

Love seeing people post "not at historical low" on these ones

    • I'm waiting for $1500!

got one for 30% office and 70% gaming, and I am nearly blind after 2 weeks, the text is tooooo blurry.

please stay with IPS 4K if you need the monitor for office use, we probably need wait couple of years more to have the better text clarity on OLED monitor.

    • Depends what you're coming from I guess. I'm still using a Dell S2719dgf and have compared this to the Alienware OLED. The latter seems clearer to me.

      • you are totally right, the problem is I use 27 inch ultrasharp 4K before, comparing to AW3423DW, smaller and higher resoluition, much higher PPI
I just sold my AW3423DW and waiting for my G3223Q.

I am thinking about to use G3223Q for 5 years at least, as I thought all the issue with OLED panel shall be solved by then.

    • Totally Agree. I sold this monitor straight away after I got it and replaced with AW3821DW. Very happy with the brightness and sharpness of the text.

I know the color of AW3423 is a lot vivid however, It was not my style and the color tone was too warm as well.

      • Micro LED shall be a good choice for us - Office and Gaming ( I mean the "real" Micro LED"), but it will be another timing question, it will be an even longer wait.
