Mad Catz E.G.O. Arcade Fighting Stick $117.50 + Delivery (Free Delivery with One Pass) @ Catch

230

Was browsing the catch 50% deals then found this.

Reviews seem to praise the genuine sanwa buttons & joystick, and the ability to change parts/face plates etc.

Although it's advertised with a wide compatibility with multiple systems, they don't seem to like the fact that you need to connect this to a ps4/Xbox controller via USB whilst using. Also some reviews talk about having to use an non updated controller for Xbox/ps5.

Took the plunge cause I've been after an arcade stick for a while but am now doing more PC playing (Xbox app/mugen/steam) anyways.

Next cheapest that I could find was $226.80 at ozsale. 3xcamels shows ATL of $240.60.

Yes, forgot to mention that this is the newer rebrand (even though they're basically identical) when madcatz was rebought and rejuvenated post it's bankruptcy ins 2017 or something.

finally thought we had a deal on a synth when i saw the photo :/

  • Awesome lets see how they go. Ordered 2. I have the panthera evo but i think its starting to mis my inputs so this will clarify that for me.

    • R.I.P. miss my Panthera.

You could just repair your Panthera, which is a much better stick than this. Arcade sticks are very modular. All the parts are easily replaceable, and are inexpensive.

      • yup i was thinking of getting that done but parts arent that cheap. i think i need a new stick because i used to play without any octogate and the plastic would wear off and ruin the contacts i guess so thats $40 plus buttons. plus delivery. this way i can test this stick, confirm thats its not my stick or if its me the go from there.

  • Wonder if this would be compatible with a Raspberry Pi 400 running Arcade emulation if anyone has any experience.

    • +2

Yes it should be fine to use with a Pi, just connects via USB. But you would have to map the controls to the stick & buttons (like with MAME on a Windows PC).

Or you could just get this one - https://raspberry.piaustralia.com.au/products/arcade-d-1p-us… - for around the same price.

But I'd say the Mad Catz looks to me to have a better build quality.

Perfect timing for upcoming Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8!

  • $117.50 for a Fighting Stick?
    Tell him he's dreaming!

  • dang missed out, price is back up to $257

This is very good value tbh. It might be a rebrand of a generic fightstick but if it's using sanwa parts and runs on all those systems it's pretty good.

I'm in the process of refreshing my old TE1 and the brook universal PCB alone is gonna cost $130.

Edit: seems to be back up to $200+ now. Not worth

    • Brook UFB is amazing, well worth the price, in my opinion.
