I feel like an unknown brand is worse than heymix?

    • +3

If you scroll down on the page for the Lencent-branded item, there’s actually one that looks exactly the same, just branded as Heymix.

          Cool, 20 bucks thanks

        • +1

The LENCENT has a fuse in the plug,
but I cannot tell from the pictures whether
the HEYMIX has a fuse or not?

          EDIT:
The HEYMIX does have a fuse enclosed.

HEYMIX Universal Adapter use the third generation fuse BS1362,
with ASTA safety certification, large protection capacity for electrical appliances,
can be adapted to high-power Adapters, You can buy this type of fuse in any country's electrical stores,
We provide you with a spare fuse on the converter in case of emergency.

My only gripe is the position of the plugs particularly the AU one it sits too high it partially pushes the switch off so you can't get a nice fit.

Also the fast charge no matter what cable I use seems to work when you first plug it in then a few minutes later it defaults back to normal charge speed.

Heymix cops too much flak I reckon. Powerbanks aside, I’ve only ever had good experiences with their chargers and universal travel adaptors like this.

Not one issue using it to power my 108w Belkin GaN charger on my 3.5 week eurotrip. Included case was a nice touch, but wished the blue LED wasn’t so bright or omitted from the design altogether.

Most people would use it as bedside charger for their phones, so having a bright blue light next to your face can’t be conducive for sleeping.

I thought the same and bought the recent travel charger. It came with a split down the middle, so small fingers could touch the electronics inside. Instant return, they need to up their QC game!

      • Nothing a sharpie or electrical tape couldn't cover

Grabbed a couple of these late last year when going overseas. Worked in Singapore, Germany, UK and USA, no worries at all.\
The only thing it didn't do was convert voltage (in USA) so couldn't charge up the electric toothbrush but it lasted the 8 days I was there anyway from the charge it got in UK.
    Can't recommend enough.

Can confirm, have used this brand after another ozb bargain post and had no issues

@sircable - if you have an oral b toothbrush, these work well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004853381631.html - I have one similar with micro usb input which I use for travelling, search on aliexpress for what connections you want :)

damn wish i knew this earlier … :(
i noticed that the normal charger says 220v … i did have it plugged into 110v … it just seemed to charge really slowly ..

      • Amazing find, thank you!

    • -1

Wait you just casually plugged in a device knowing there's a voltage difference?

I mean its from 240V to 120V but still.

  • +3

I think you're correct that it is targeted, but widely targeted - to all Prime Customers.

  • Good timing. Will it be supported in Japan also?

    • +4

I think Japan would be considered a major country out of the 200 that it supports.

      • I did some research and seems it is the same with US's plug

    • +5

I got this for my Japan trip (couple of weeks Feb this year) and it worked well, granted we only used it for a hair straightener (~35w) and 2 to 3 devices using the usb ports left charging overnight.

I did test this at home prior to our trip with other appliances and they seem to work, although we do have 240v here compared to Japan's 100v. YMVM

  • AUS plug doesn’t appear to be insulated. The pictures show the prongs fully exposed.

    • +2

Most of these sorts of adapters have that issue.

    • +2

Between this and the other complaint about it sitting a bit loose in AU sockets, it's likely just a CN plug?

  • Just bought one of these on ebay for $20

    • could you share the linke please??

  • This looks exactly like something I picked up at a conference recently, it's doing the job at home but I didn't think it would be worth this much

  • Cheers OP. Perfect timing before my international trip in a couple of months.

  • +2

I’m not a big fan of the type that requires turning the prongs to make it AU plug. Still upvoted because it’s a nice price, though.

I got something similar, worked well to charge our phones, battery pack, watches and electric toothbrush in a recent Japan trip.

  • Seems like there is alot of these on Amazon for the same price or less

This LENCENT power-plug adapter has an enclosed fuse in the plug.

I recommend finding out what type of fuse this is,
then buying the fuse and carrying 2-3 spare fuses on your travels,
in case the fuse is blown.

If you don't replace the fuse, you won't be able to use the entire plug at all.

  • Is it Type C or Type C PD charging? I couldnt find the specs of the PD aka can it power 20V or just 5V?

    • +1

Even if 20V aren't supported, it would have to do some of the specs at least like 9V or 15V at least, but it doesn't even do that. I think this is just a 5V 3A charger and the PD is misleading.

    • According to the print on the side of the device itself it's only 5v 3A, so NOT PD

  • Got the HEYMIX 2 for $42.76 thanks

  • Just received mine and I don't know why I didn't anticipate that it doesn't fit a single Aussie wall socket as the cube is bulky and the socket's on-off switch comes in way. It's also going to be an issue in other countries that have switches on power outlets.

    Should be good on powerboards.

  • As there is a fire risk with these crappy brands, any good brand?
