    I'll wait for 599

To be frank, i'm not buying another nvidia card after what they've done over the past couple of years….. especially the new 40series, by keeping prices way out of reach.

Fair enough mate. Support competition - go amd or Intel

        • +6

I'm seriously hoping intel stay in the comp. They don't have to target top-tier, just concentrate on the middle-class (which is way more realistic and affordable) and give both AMD and invidia a run for their money. Might drive prices down.

          • @teddiebear: Yeah at this point i only buy on thr dip, got my 4070Ti OC Asus Tuf for $1299 a true retail price IMO but the retail of 1600-1800 is just stupid

@BinChicken69: That's a reasonable price! Considering since the 3070ti, 3080 went back UP in price on the 40-launch. Both were under $900-1k prior. Was yours a pre-order price?

              • @teddiebear: Nope haha bought from centrecom during their "open box sale" and best of all IT WAS SEALED and i asked them too, seemed like a steal to me, also picked up a 240gb green for $10

When the 4070Ti is 3090Ti like performance, this doesn't make sense anymore.

    (3080 owner).

3090TI performance at 1440p and below at least.

      • +3

I know it isn't quite there, but the 4070Ti will dip lower soon. Some benches are neck and neck.

Agreeed however i have noticed quite a bit of upscaling on my 4070 ti im not sure if the 3090 to has this but the FPS on 1440p is excellent

  • Well that didn't last long!

  • Great card. I bought mine for $772 second hand.

    • Nice score there! 😀

Yay. Slightly below RRP for last gen hardware.

It's a shame The RTX 3000 series didn't have an increase in VRAM, Nvidia would have allowed many users to skip buying a generation (RTX 4000) and keep their GPU's for longer. My RTX 3070 feels like it's aged badly as the newer games like Hogwarts / RE4 run quite badly because even at just medium-high settings, memory allocation often exceeds the 8GB limit.

    • I never understood the lack of vram in the 30-series. 8GB, 10GB, 24GB…. there was a MASSIVE gap! Especially since the AMD and intel cards offered way more being 12GB &16GB on mid-top cards. Only limited by the bit-rate however

The lack of VRAM is a deliberate strategy from NVIDIA to upsell you to a more expensive card. 8GB of VRAM was fine for a little while but now a lot of people are getting bitten by it, and will likely look to upgrade their GPU sooner than they otherwise would have.

        • Seems like it, even the non TI 1080 which I'm still using is 8GB VRAM.

  • lol the evga was $1130 back in 2020. 10gb also obsolete now
