Creative Gourmet Frozen Banana Mango Pineapple 400g $2.82 ($7.05/kg) @ Coles

380

Cheap price for this IMO.

Mangoes by themselves for like $9 /kg at cheapest at other places,
Bananas frozen are cheaper
Pineapples are also something like $6-$10 Kg at some places.

This product is Mostly Bananas then mostly mangoes, then pineapples in terms of ratio. From my experience.

Anyway this would make great smoothies, shakes etc.

So enjoy spending

Frozen fruit is so much more convenient. Can stock up and nothing goes to waste.

    • Less ice too.

I find that buying quality fresh fruit, cutting it and freezing yourself always tastes so much better than the packet frozen fruit you buy like this

    • +8

Of course, but when the prices of fresh fruit are ridiculous, this is the next best thing.

Everyone kept harping on about the glut of mangoes this season just gone, yet I never saw them below $2ea anywhere - at independents or supermarkets.

The pineapple is an example, it tasted horrible, I still have half the packet. I would rather spend some extra. This is simply landfill.

  • Feel like because this has banana, if I put this in a smoothie the whole thing will just taste like banana

    • Smoothies are generally bad for you anyway, so no great loss here. A fruit smoothie can mean a large / huge volume of fruit consumed in a short time. That, and the fact that the fruit sugars and acids can be smashed out of their cellular matrix (soluble fibre) will mean that absorption by the body is unnaturally fast. Especially given the glycemic load of bananas, pineapple and mango, this is not a great idea.

Probably produced with underpaid and exploited labour. Which is disgusting . Sent from my iPhone

Yeh. Probably child labour. Sent from my Android Phone

        • I don't know why there isn't much attention about this compared to China for example.

Support Australian growers and there is a huge difference in quality.

Nice! Vietnamese fruit leaves Australian fruit for dead.
