I bought acer aspire one from OW for $492 - $99 cashback from acer :)

They are starting to do something like this in the US and France: “Netbooks Will Soon Cost $99” Also: Slashdot

the question is are they(Virgin) locking you into a 24month plan with this

It’s basically a bundle of these two items:

• Virgin Prepaid Broadband — $179 (USB key + 500MB)
• Acer Aspire One — $646

Yes things are getting more expensive.

We have it - lucky to get speeds of 7kb/s (56kbps - around dial-up speed)

But it doesn’t make sense that APC say that the product was pulled (not long ago either) when it’s still being sold…

jaxon: They won’t be able to lock you in to a contract. It’s prepaid.
