    Just in time for the top of the price cycle: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/petrol-and-fuel/petrol-pri…

    • Still cheaper then paying 13 cents more.

      • Not if you do a fuel lock

        • +1

          My Fuel Lock price at 7/11 today for Diesel is 195.9. My local Freedom Fuel about 2km from said 7/11 price today is 197.5, I will let you know tomorrow what the price is. I am betting it will be cheaper for me with 13 cents off. Not using fuel lock.

            @Regie69:

            My Fuel Lock price at 7/11 today for Diesel is 195.9.

            It's currently 179.9 for Diesel

            • @jv: Cheapest Diesel in SE Qld today is 176.7 and that's at Costco.

              • @Regie69: Which is cheaper than the 197.5 at freedom fuels.

                You can currently price lock diesel for 179.9 at 7/11

                @Regie69: @jv is actually referring to the “chopper” method, where you fake the location of an iOS or Android device so that it appears to the 7-Eleven app that you are near the cheapest 7-Eleven service station in Australia for the fuel type you are looking for.

                If you want to see the OzBargain megathread talking about the “chopper” method, have a look here.

                I find the chopper method quite easy to do, but be mindful of the pitfalls:

                • It is against the terms and conditions of the My 7-Eleven app to fake your location, so if 7-Eleven suspect you are using faking your location, they can ban your 7-Eleven account (and it happens from time to time). Additionally, if you are unable (or forget) to redeem a fuel lock at the time of purchase and then you ask 7-Eleven for a reimbursement via a gift card (which is a feature of the fuel lock system), there is a chance that 7-Eleven could turn around and simply ban your account.

                • Simply using a “chopper” may not actually yield the cheapest fuel price for you when compared with what is available in your local area. I just see the “chopper” as one of many handy tools in my fuel discounts toolbox.

  • What fuel (eg. Caltex, Mobil etc) they sell?

    Beware!
    Cheapest price in Brisbane and Ipswich is in Ipswich Yomanto at 1.665, while the cheapest freedom fuel station is 2.099, for u91.

    I have two Freedom Fuel sites near me, but I can't find them in the provided link. Does it mean they don't have this discount or the website is not up to date?
