[QLD, NSW] Free Classic Ramen @ Motto Motto (App Required)

260

A repeat of this deal but after a long time, and yes, possibly targeted.

I really like Motto Motto's Ramen and the fact that it's a good dining experience. They have their stores in most popular shopping centres.

Usual RRP of Classic Ramen is $16.90 so this seems to be a pretty good deal!

  • Targeted - not on 3 accounts or emails for family in Qld.

Didn't receive that last offer either - but have received other free Motto ramen offers.

Their version of Ramen is OK, not great. Wouldn't pay $16.90 for it.

Bought so many great $1 Matcha soft serves for months over summer🍦

Found promotions are often different & on different dates for Qld - where Motto are based.

Received 1 offer of FREE CHICKEN KARAAGE (3p) Valid for 28 days from 29/03

  • Definitely targeted, didn’t get any deals on my account.

  • +1

    Not offered in my app

  • This is one of the targeted freebies they sometimes offer, nothing really new.

Find you usually get this in the next round if you don't claim the karaage chicken (if you're targeted for that).

    • With 3 family accounts for years - seems more random than that. Rare that more than 1 account is targeted for offer.

Never had a follow up free Ramen offer when family member missed the free karaage chicken offer. But have received free Ramen offer on a different account…

Currently have a free karaage chicken offer, no free Ramen🍜

      • Yeah that's usually just my experience but I find you get a better item if you turn down a small freebie (although I've only done that a few times). YMMV

  • Signed but but did not receive this offer.

    • +1

If just signed up, won't receive this offer.
You get this & future targeted offers🍜

I had this for the first time recently and not long after spending a week in Tokyo - I thought it was very very average in comparison to the real deal and most other Ramen i've had in Australia - was surprised that it had lots of good reviews!?!

That's like saying you just came back from Italy and crust pizza ain't that great.

    • Because it's mediocre food.

Which location? Also, I doubt moto moto being quick serve and a big menu will break down the bones the traditional way. Hakataya is most authentic for me. Going to try Ramen Danbo next, which is a franchise from Japan.

      • Hakataya is pretty bad too.

I'd say danbo is the most authentic chain one I've tried.

      • Hakataya is a Ramen chain from Japan. They simmer pork bones the traditional way. You can smell the difference!!

Having eaten Ramen many times over many years in Japan, it's pretty authentic.

Bonus: Free Ramen on birthday with photo ID.

Motto Motto set up by Aussies in Brisbane, is pretty bland in comparison. Only eaten when free.

Plenty of better Ramen shops here.
(Usually leave eating Ramen until in Japan.)

Haven't tried Ramen Danbo - sounds good. Similar tonkotsu ramen with traditional simmered broth. Didn't realise they were in Brisbane.

For the Ramen aficionado, the 1985 Ramen classic movie is Tampopo - how to cook the perfect Ramen 🎥
Thanks to director Juzo Itami's offbeat humor and sharp satirical edge, Tampopo is a funny, sexy, affectionate celebration of food and its broad influence on Japanese culture 100%

You also get tadaema at Hakataya, so a free serve of extra noodles. I guess it can depend on the cooks at each location sometimes and personal taste. Muso ramen also was good. Danbo is expanding very quickly… only remember two outlets in GC when I last looked. Ramen media I would recommend is God of Ramen

          • @Cave Fire: If you watch the film Tampopo, the joy of the 'correct' eating process is shown. (eg broth should be too hot to drink)

I enjoy a tasty traditional broth. Not so much into tadaema - only had once.

Now lots of Danbo in Brisbane - thanks for the advice.

    • I agree, I tried in Broadway Sydney and it was not as good as other options in Sydney. Similar prices.

  • They have their stores in most popular shopping centres.

There’s literally one MM north of the harbour bridge.

    • While they aren't a massive chain there's both Macquarie Centre and Castle Towers. If they had one on the northern beaches or even Chatswood they'd probably have most of the north covered.

This is bin tier ramen, might as well eat packet.

  • Not real pork bone soup just can soup diluted all good ramen shops you can smell the fragrant pork stock once you enter the shop

    Still no Ramen offer🍜

    • Congrats :-) Looks like they read OzB threads ;-)

      • These are the regular offers I receive.
Unfortunately no offer of Ramen for me in a long time😢

          • @djoz: Yes, saw that. Ok for FREE!
$5.90 for a Mini Yiros😜 Their normal ones are so small.
Bought normal recently in Deal for $5. Those also used to be free offer for new app users!

          • @djoz: Those Yiros are pretty bland… Will grab one if near store. Thanks.

Eating some $1 SPICY Korean (packet) noodles.
