Berge BPVR-1000 HD Set Top Box with PVR Recording via USB + Multi Media Player $28 + Postage

71

Berge HD Set Top Box / PVR, Media Player AVI, MKV etc is based on the M-Star chipset as seen in other brands such as Akai, Digitel, Kogan, Olin, Strong, Teac etc. My point being if you haven't heard of this brand you may recognise some of these others as essentially they share the same GUI and features.

don't buy this piece of shxt, can't record to HDD and the recorded file is huge.

      • Actually yes you can easily record to HDD/USB Flash and your comments are shxt. PVR's record digital TV as transport streams. They typically DONT re encode the files, rather put what they get through your antenna directly onto HDD. The file size of programs recorded is no different from any more expensive PVR. So your comment lacks any truth or knowledge of the product or PVR category in general.

  • Hey Luke,

    Personally think it's better as it's got front panel buttons;

    • Standby
    • Menu
    • OK
    • Volume +/-
    • Channel +/-

Other than this operation and features similar

  • This is almost a copyright infringement! Lucky there is only 1 R!!

LOL…. Just read your previous history…lovin Costco and wrote, "If this deal is not acceptable then report it, instead of the hate"….might as well get used to it….LOL

  • For about a year I've been wondering how I can get rca video output (yellow, red, white) to a USB stick (without a pc).

Would it work if I ran my rca's into an old vhs machine..
which then goes from it's antenna out to berge RF antenna in?

    anyone?

    • Analog to digital.
      Most likely need a PC.

RF input receives analog signal and then outputs analog signal through RF output.
I don't think you can make the VHS input RCA and then output RF.

      I haven't used a VHS for a while now, can't remember.

If this machine can record from VHS RCA(VHS RCA to Set top RCA, does the box have that?) and then copy to USB(does it have USB ports, didn't bother checking?), then you can do it that way.

      • You could run the RCA out of STB to VHS/DVD Recorder and record to tape, sure quality would be compromised some.

Otherwise yes it has USB and you can record directly to USB. The later is a better option as you can schedule different channels and timeslots to record v's having to set both STB and VHS etc with on/off record timers.

    • No, this unit only has a digital tuner.

Edit; I think the VCR could input RCA but the RF output would need an analogue TV tuner.

    • thanks for the replies.
      helps.

  • Is there any video input for this unit? I am looking for AV input to record my satelite dish programs through a PVR. Is this unit output full HD ,1080P?

  • Stitchy, Could you explain further your requirements. What sort of application are you referring to TV,SAT,CAMCORDER,DVR I'm just trying to get my head around the situation. Doesn't have RCA inputs?

There are modulators both analogue and digital. Plus if your after av in recording there's a number of other units out there

    • Well.. I think the wintal pvr10hd will do the job!

It's to help a friend who runs a small struggling school.. students do presentations and would like to take their work home straight away for reviewing. DVD systems are clumsy and unreliable.. waiting for discs to initiate/finalise and hoping they'll work at home isn't ideal.

I think the pvr you posted should handle:

CAMCORDER rca/svideo => PVR => USB stick (no pc, and direct record to usb stick)

      • Yes will be suitable for your application. You can record to internal HDD, then transfer off copies of the video presentation or if you prefer record directly to USB. Can also record 2x separate camcorders via inputs at the same time.

Just bear in mind the file format is an MPEG 4 H.264, File extension .TRP This file format is widely supported by all PC/MAC media players, good free one's for PC include VLC and GOM

      • ahhh, but the only problem with recording to usb is that i believe it has to be fat32.
This means a limitation of 4gb.

but surely this is heaps for the 30mins - 60mins they need to record.

(also, i have to double check it doesn't require a powered usb hdd.. ie flash stick will work)

        • From product description:

"The BPVR-1000 records via USB and works with both FAT32 and NTFS hard drives and flash drives."

        • ahh sorry, I meant for the "wintal pvr10hd" re: link above

and unfortunately the bpvr doesn't record to usb from rca.

        • No time limit applies when recording to FAT32 enabled HDD's or Flash drives. HDD's can easily be formatted in FAT32 (or a partition created) Also 100% works with all HDD's whether powered or non powered.

  • I want to set top box which supports 3D….

    • This one is MPEG 2/4 so yes supports 3D.

  • I was so ready to buy this until I saw the shipping cost to Darwin. $26 ain't really nice. Maybe the rep could be nice to me?

Ouch…You'll need to move closer to Sydney where it's about $8-9 LOL

Can send this one via Prepaid Satchel for $18, just give us a call 1300119915.

  • That's alright, I will have to give it a miss this time. Thanks though.

I was just about to purchase as well and I pulled out at the $13.95 shipping. Bit steep these days, really. Can't cost that much to send this item. I'll go to eBay. Pity.

    • posted anything lately?

      • -3

Yeah, I have, actually - and of course this company charges only minimum post (yeah right). I get tired of paying post above what it actually costs. One company tried to charge me $12 for a USB stick, for example.

Gmac61 what's your postcode? Our Auspost Eparcel Postage calculator is based on weight & location and directly corresponds with our discounted Auspost rates. I'm looking at an order in Manly, New South Wales, 2095 that paid $8.34.

Your neg is inappropriate as have carefully considered our postage options to ensure customers only pay what it actually costs to their location.

  • Hi,

I really do not know, if all HD set top box is 3D compatible?

    Thanks,
