Citibank Concierge Hotel Prices

Tried using the 4th night free. We have 2x citi prestige cc:

Just tried booking our 5th hotel for our trip to Europe and it looks like the prices from the concierge portal are now different to the prices you can see on Expedia. The first 4 hotels we booked more than a month ago were exactly the same price as Expedia prices with member discount. I confirmed with the concierge the dates and other settings (eg inclusive of breakfast) she entered in her system are exactly as per how we wanted it. We checked 3 different hotels in Prague with concierge and 2 of them she had lower rates than what I can see on Expedia but one of them was 130$ higher!
Has anyone else experienced the same lately?
A bit hard to book if this is the new norm!

    make sure the other site is inclusive of all local taxes, levies & resort fees — any AU based reseller will be fully inclusive, offshore have no consumer requirement — maybe comparing apples w/ oranges

      I was using Expedia au and concierge was using their booking portal.
      But like I said my first 4 bookings were exactly the same price on Expedia as their portal

    Agreed, I've just got some quotes from them for Japan and it's cheaper to go the hotel direct even with the 4th night free (including the local taxes). The Expedia price per night is cheaper than the concierge price, but the free night makes up the difference.

      Yes this year. I think you should be able to book for next year if it allows you online

    So apparently they don't use Expedia anymore and there's no way for us to find the prices they have on their portal.
    I did find a few hotels are lower than online like bookings or Expedia but most are more expensive. 3 out of 9 hotels to be exact were lower
    Its quite annoying that we can't check prices before calling

    Hey OP! Did you figure out the best strategy when booking using Citi Concierge? Is it just to call them and go through each hotel to find out the price?

      Find the hotels you like at the price range you want and call them to ask for their prices…that's the only way unfortunately!

    Yes just discovered this too! Agent told me they now use a corporate portal called switchfly, but no way to look up pricing or availability. A place i was looking for on expedia had 19 results but on their new portal only 1. Price was broadly the same.
