  • Hows the experience with these things? Good for music? Is it weird to have full environmental sound while listening to stuff?

    • It honestly just feels like normal headphones most of the time. Just without any background noise being blocked so good luck hearing your music if anyone is around.

      • Yep but that’s the point. I go for hikes with my friends and can listen and talk no issue, just like having a radio on that only I can hear.

        • Whats the mic like?

          • @superroach: Mic on pro is great. NR is good, but high wind does impact it

I have the Aeropex. These are my third pair. I got the first one 2014-15. The way I describe them is they are like external speakers. Like music in the background. I have a pair of Shure that are really nice for music and much better than the Shoz, but the Shoz are the ones that use the most because they are so practical. They were used to come with earplugs. Like in the bus, they are not good by themselves, but they were Ok with the earplugs. The microphone on mine is crap.

      I love mine.

    • I've had them for about a month now.
Music is strange on these. If you accept the fact these are purely for hearing the external environment and have a dedicated pair of headphones for music, they are ok but the music lacks treble, is all mids and bass is lacking, especially sub bass.
In order to hear the sound in louder environments, you need to be on almost maximum volume. At this volume they vibrate a fair bit which almost feels like getting tickled.
Aside from this, no one has complained about the mic during calls and it is great for calls.
Battery life is good but going from a charging case back to plugging them in and physically / consciously having to remember to turn them on / off takes a few times to get used to.
I read some reviews complaining about the controls but I've had no trouble and they work well.

      • I love the controls being physical buttons on these

      It is not bone conduction.

      • It clearly said air conduction.

    • I purchased these on 26/10/22 and they broke some time around April 23 Probably used them 3 times a week. One of the sides of the headphones started making loud static-y sounds, I think somehow due to water damage, either sweat or rain. Could be something else but I'm going to try the Shokz next.

  • Will buy when it is true bone conducting, right now its just small earphone.

People sit close to me can hear the music but im sure We dont share bones….

    • You don't share bones.. Not yet…

      • Prone bone head phone

  • Wearing these at my workplace where I need to wear earlugs. Was sceptical but I absolutely love them. The bluetooth works extremely well also.
People are fascinated by them too and always want to try them out. The buttons are easy to use and I find myself forgetting that I'm wearing them. Wish they came with a hard case instead of a bag.

Mine came with hard case, did you get this pro model? My older air model was soft case.

        Ah yes.
I got the model down from these. The More water resistant ones.

    • Thanks for this - Officeworks have dropped their price to match HN so 99 came to the rescue for the deal!!

  • How does these compare to the aeropex ones?

    https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/aftershokz-a… looks pretty similar

    • Pretty sure they are the same company. They rebranded from Aeropex to Shokz about 18 months ago.

      • no i know that, but aeropex is a different older model

  • +1

Pro model not worth the extra money. Base model is same accoustically. I picked mine up for $150 great for running. Cycling or walking dog. Wouldn't use for anything else.

  • I want open fit
