Electric Height Adjustable Desks - Alternatives to Zen Space Desks

Hi all

I ordered a desk from Zen Space Desks, but to put it mildly their customer service has been subpar.

Quick summary:
- Day 0: Order placed
- Day 2: email from them advising they are short on stock (ie either do not have the capacity to prevent their website selling stock they don't have or they don't want to put this restriction in place) and will advise next week whether or not they have sufficient stock to ship the orders
- Day 8: email from them advising their next shipment of stock will arrive 32 days after the order was placed
- Day 25: noted they are advertising another sale their website but there are no indicators they are low on stock or that there will be delays on the order
- Day 35: as I hadn't got an update from them I contacted them - they advised their next shipment wont arrive until Day 41 in the dock and then they still have to get it to their warehouse for processing.

Anyway have advised them if the order isn't shipped by Day 46 to cancel the order - just wondering if anyone has alternative options who are capable of counting their stock before selling it or at least providing information in regards to turn around times?

Office Works seem to have stock of height adjustable desks.

Should have gone with UpDown Desk, they're consistently rated as the best sit-stand desk manufacturer/vendor in Australia (especially in terms of customer support).
I received my desk within 2 weeks after ordering it. No issues with shipping damage/packaging, assembly or operation.

It's been working quite well for about a year now.

UpDown Desk currently have a promotion offering free shipping, a monitor arm and cable management tray plus $100 dollars off their normal price for all of their electric desks.

Having said all of that, the majority of these electric sit-stand desks in Australia all use the same electric motors/internals; the other materials differ in quality somewhat, especially the grades/varieties of hardwoods they offer for the desktops (UpDown Desk has the largest range of desktop materials as far as I know; Melamine, Bamboo, Messmate, Acacia, Jarrah, Pheasantwood, Rubberwood, Whiteoak and Ash plus cheaper recycled wood varieties.)

Second the UpDown Desk suggestion. I got mine (legs only, no tabletop) in July 2017 and it's still going strong after constant use since then. Great, speedy customer service and I think they're still competitively priced. Highly recommend.

If they don’t do an advert with a woman using the desk with the song “uptown girl” altered to be “up down girl” they are missing a serious opportunity.

I bought one of these during covid and have no complaints other than I don't really use it standing up but that's just me being lazy.

  • Check university and office furniture second hand sales- they often sell to the public and they will dump near new furniture just cause. OH&S requirements also mean there will be a lot of electric standing desks around too.

  • I purchased this - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/125625894428. I wanted something for a small 100x60 table so the frame size was important.

I've only had it a few days, but so far so good.

It currently has an ikea linnmon table top on it, but I'll eventually replace it with a more durable/solid top.

Forgot to add, it only took 4 days to get to me (Melb -> Syd).
