In regards to the wool quilt, what kind of weight is 500gsm? is that considered normal winter or is that extra warm?

Also the imperfections are they cosmetic only? not ones that are slightly too small or big or with the filling all gathering at the bottom?

  If You are used to a "down" doona a 500gsm wool quilt will feel like a "heavy lead blanket"
  The missus bought one to replace our "summer down doona" after a few weeks I went and bought a "winter feather/down doona" much better, warmer and light as a feather. (60/40 feather/down) $175.

What are the differences between the two, besides one being wool and the other down? Need a quilt but trying to decide betweent the two!

  The wool quilt is a bit stiffer and heavier I suppose while the feather down is fluffy and very soft.

  Down is the ultimate if you're looking for a winter doona. Super warm, super fluffy. It is the best insulating material for bedding. They still use down to fill the best sleeping bags for trekking in arctic temperatures. Feather is the next best. I use a down/feather doona and sleep with my windows open all through the melbourne winter. If I didn't already have one, I'd happily pay a couple of hundred for a 80% down quilt for the winter.
  
  For the warmer seasons a wool quilt is fine.

how does the "4-way adjustability" work? if it is shaken to adjust the filling, won't the filling "adjust" by itself, making it uneven?

  It's a box stitched design but the corners of the boxes haven't been sewn up so you can brush the filling around but there is still some structure to keep it in place. Over time and depending on how much you move around in your sleep it will probably need to be re-adjusted. Essentially this feature helps partners who prefer more/less warmth.
