Samsung Odyssey 32" G70B UHD 4K 144hz Gaming Monitor $849 Delivered @ Samsung

100

The Samsung Odyssey G7/G70B S32BG70 is a 32-inch, 4k gaming monitor that's also available in a 28-inch size, but it's a different product that doesn't perform the same. It's a newer version of the Samsung Odyssey G7 S28AG70 with many of the same features, including HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for console gaming and FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support with G-SYNC compatibility. Unlike other models in the Odyssey G7 lineup released in 2022, this one is limited to a 144Hz refresh rate and doesn't feature Mini LED backlighting like the higher-end Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 S32BG75. However, it's a unique gaming monitor because it features Samsung's proprietary Tizen OS smart platform built-in, letting you stream content without needing a PC, and it has extra connectivity options like built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

  • Hmmmmm I just ordered a Dell 32” G3223Q for $750, but I’ve still got time to cancel. Would this be worth going through that trouble for? I had my eye on it before, but didn’t seem to be worth the price difference at $1000

I recently had the opportunity to test the Dell 32” G3223Q and unfortunately it didn't perform as well as I had hoped. The monitor had compatibility issues with my RTX 4090 G-sync, causing the screen to flicker during gaming which was extremely annoying. I did some research and found that other users had similar problems, so I ended up returning it.

On the other hand, I have read positive things about the Samsung G70B, which is certified as G-sync compatible. While I haven't personally used this monitor, it seems like a great choice for those who are using Nvidia GPUs and want to avoid the compatibility issues that I experienced with the Dell 32” G3223Q. Based on my own experience and research, I would recommend the Samsung G70B over the Dell 32” G3223Q for gaming purposes, especially if you're looking for a G-sync compatible monitor.

Very fair, thanks for the write up. I’m running a full AMD rig, and from what I’ve seen so far, people seem to think it won’t have those problems with freesync. I might stick fat because it seems that outside of that, the differences are marginal.

They're about on par but seems the Dell edges out in picture quality ever so slightly.

Worth noting this is the standard G7 and not the G7 Neo version which has considerably better picture quality.

  • Hmmm.. I want a high refresh rate 4k 32in monitor for coding and casual playing dota2 on my mac studio. I wonder if this samsung or the dell g3223q is better. Already have 2 dell s2722qc and Just got the cheap phillip monitor to use temporary while waiting for a deal on the dell, but now there's this samsung deal…

    • Did you end up pulling the trigger? I'm looking to get a 32" for work and I write code all day.

      • No I didn't. I was waiting for a deal for the Dell G3223Q. But I ended up getting a secondhand Dell U3223QE tonight :D

  • I don't get the streaming bit.why would you stream to your monitor? It's usually from your phone or tablet to your TV. I don't want to watch movies on my monitor
