  • Are these good for thong throwing comps?

    • +6

I hear the $128 ones have better aerodynamics and other flight qualities which makes them ideal for throwing comps. Why don't you grab a set to find out!

      • +3

Actually, the $100+ ones are for defence only… don’t make the common mistake of throwing money at the enemy

        • +2

Correct, which is why it's better to buy 21 of the $6 ones for offence as you have a higher chance of hitting the target.

          • @ShinK0: The hypersonic thongs are extremely costly, but with a one-thong strike you can be almost certain of victory

@tharlow: I don't think they are noob friendly and @cheaponos strikes me as a beginner based on their question.

              • @ShinK0: Fortunately it’s a cheaper sport than welly wanging

Which ones are for offence against errant children?

          • +1

@boretentsu: That's none of these but you'll find what you're looking for in the kitchen section filed under: Spoon, Wooden.

  • These thongs gives my toes wedges

    • +2

Just need to get sour cream and sweet chilli sauce from other parts of your body.

  • +1

    Oh, those thongs.

  • I remember when people used to wear these.

Pro tip for those that like wearing thongs a lot: Spend a little extra and get Archies instead. Archies have the same look as Havis but are one piece so you'll never blow a strap ever again. The strap is tighter and they have arch support so you can walk in them all day without issues.

If you have flat feet like me, Archie's will not work for you.

    • Anywhere to get these for cheap?

Anywhere to get these for cheap?

I've never seen them on special, but even at $40 I still think the are good value since I live in mine. On a $ per km basis they are the cheapest shoes I own.

Subscribe to Archie's newsletter. Based on previous OzBargain posts, they do buy 2 get 1 free sometimes.

    err… once you select size US11 +$17 or +$7.

    • Yeah all the ones that had size 43/44 I was interested in, were plus $17! Most 43/44 ones are out of stock.

  • Would rather Surfer joes.. Lived in these things for years when I was drivin trucks.

  • If you go Bali make sure you stop at the Havianna outlet to get god tier Havianas for fairly cheap. Current pair lasted a year I think cost $24.

  • Havaianas never lasted in my experience. Billabong and quicksilver thongs with the fabric strap (as opposed to the rubber) last me ages and I found quite comfortable. They're only $30 at City Beach or anywhere else for that matter. Got at least 5 years out of the last pair before I tripped one day and did a number of them pulling the strap through body of the thong. It never fully ripped out, just loosened it a bit too much to keep wearing them.

  • Thanks OP, just grabbed a Brasil Pink Porcelain. Those Brazil ones would be more expensive so good deal

  • I get them from Kmart. I like them as they dint give blisters

  • These are the Chinese crap version….terrible
