also in Bing Lee ebay, cheaper with code and free postage

    • I looked at the eBay store and couldn't find any extra codes. Perhaps it's targeted or ebay plus. Not sure.

I've got eBay plus and no current codes for me but free shipping is a nice bonus.

  • Any reason to buy one of these over anything else on the market?

I would just stick to something that is well-known with a large userbase and established history of frequent updates, warranty, service etc

      • I have the ticwatch e on its way for 37 bucks, couldn't go past that after my fossil stopped charging after only 2.5 years, pretty annoyed about that. Judging by scrimshaw's comment below, seems like that does a bunch more than this for less than half the price

Depends on use case really. There's a growing number of these sub-$100 devices out there. If all you need is the features as listed then for less than the price of Friday after-work drinks they're pretty appealing.

It's less of a smartwatch and more of a activity tracker with a round screen. No microphone, cannot store Mp3's, no NFC for mobile payments, and no sensor for blood pressure. It does have a GPS, although it's anyone's guess how accurate it is.

    • Yeah sound like no point. I noticed the pine time mentioned in another post and for under 40 delivered to do the basics and have a week battery life that sounds half decent. Limitation is doesn't have anything g beyond the heart rate sensor

Yeah I'm interested in the Pine time too. I have a Galaxy Watch4 and although Samsung packed it full of sensors & I can use it to pay for my public transport / meals, I don't wear it very often because it spends a lot of time charging.

I wish there was a modern equivalent of the Pebble Time Steel. Long battery life, simple, hardware button navigation but also capable of using for mobile payments and invoking Google Assistant.

I have had some bad luck with smart watches over the years, my first pebble died, replaced it with an LG G Watch and it was decent, but I liked the pebble, eventually I got a pebble 2, and not even a week in and a kid ruin a button making it useless, then I got the fossil q explorist and what a POS that was until it stopped charging recently, and during which I lost the g watch so I can't go back to that. Using a MiBand 6 now but it's a bit simple and doesn't do some things I want it to, like sp02 while sleeping. It's too bad that Apple only let's you use their watch with their phone, or I might have picked one up by now

The FOS community appears to be working on a new watch board, so hopefully there will be a pinetime 2 with more features soon, when that's the case I will jump

        • PineTime is amazing for what it does with such low specs. And I picked one of these up recently https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005321783272.html and am thoroughly impressed. The screen is incredible. No GPS (uses phone GPS), and isn't actually "solar". But BT calls, the Android app is pretty good and has been trouble-free and insane battery life. Sure, doesn't have a couple of features I'd like. But for under 100 bucks it's ace. I'm pretty sure any of those similar devices out there would do just as well.

well that explains why it's never appeared on this site. Seems like its just a glorified version of the cheap $20 stuff sold on Temu and sites of that sort

Rebadged AliExpress shit by the looks of it.
