Woolworth Delivery Unlimited Subscription Is a Scam

Woolworths Delivery Unlimited is a Scam.

Woolworths silently keeps charging your credit card for delivery unlimited never once showing on the app that you are a member of this subscription and never once emailing you invoice of this charge. They don't send or show anything remotely related to this subscription in the hope that people forget about this subscription while getting silently charged $185.

Beware! Check your profile and goto Delivery Unlimited to see if you are subscribed as you may have taken a trial and forgotten to cancel.

Amazon mails you to use your prime benefits if you dont use them for sometime and shows that you are susbcribed prominently on the website and app with a diffrent logo. But not woolworths, because its easy to make free money when people forget that they are subscribed.

I just now cancelled the susbcription after being charged for 6 months $15 per month for delivery unlimited and never using the service even once.

I am putting together a detailed complaint to ACCC with screenshots as this looks like malpractice to fleece consumers.

I received an initial sign up email, then received an update email to details last night. The last 9 months I've not used the service, nor received any correspondence around it.

Not a scam, but definitely (profanity) disgusting.

  • I guess stopping the 10% off once a month for online was Woolies way of stopping OzBargainers who were only entitled to one 10% off shop a month scamming them by getting one in the store and another one online.

    • Yep i cancelled delivery unlimited due to that. It was a decent combo, without it i would rather make the effort to go to the shops 1 extra trip a month and save $120 a year.

  • This is all your responsibility, take the lesson and move on.

  • Skill issue.

    It's not a scam. It's a subscription service.
You've subscribed. I recently cancelled mine as we were going to the store more often then online.

Don't you see the constant monthly hit on your card..that's individual to all the other Woolies spend?

This seems like a massive over reaction or is this just me?

I assume you don't check your cc bill each month to see what you've paid for? A quick scan would have revealed an ongoing Woolies charge

    • this is whats wrong with people

they do something incorrectly and then blame the corporations

Its very easy to put a small note in your calendar to cancel the trial

The op is acting like they forced him to sub

      Lol people are crazy.

  • They are soon changing some things about the service. Bags will cost extra per order, and min order will now be $75 (not hard to do, to be honest!)

I've had several situations where I pick say the 7-10pm window - then get a txt saying your order is due between 7:35pm - 8:35pm, which is fine.

But then I get a txt saying your order is next in line at like 5pm, and the order will get delivered at like 5:30pm. I don't get home usually until 7:10 so this completely ruins all the fridge items.

I always get a refund, but it's sooo frustrating. I tell them - in some situations, an early delivery is not a good thing! :P

  • sound like this "deliver" matches the Lord's :v

  • OP looks like you might be interested in using a Virtual Card Service similar to AirWallex. They are great for when trying out a new service and to avoid ongoing recharges if you end up not liking it. If you have a US Credit Card, I believe you can use Chrome Virtual Cards.

Sorry OP you may need to check your junk mail.

I have two emails in my inbox, one confirming I've subscribed and another confirmed I've reactivated after pausing the subscription for a while.

  • I haven't ordered online from either of the duopoly.

But I did a dummy booking to see delivery costs, and Woolworths wants $15 for delivery (cheapest option).

Coles will deliver for $2 (cheapest option).

This is to a regional / rural area, in VIC. Both closest stores are circa 40km? away, so obviously one's trying to profit much more than the other….

Coles mid week delivery only 2 bucks and you don't need a stupid plan.

    lol

    Serial scamee.

  • They are going to charge $2 for a paper bag. I wonder how much Woolies pays for them? A lot less than $2 is my guestimate.
