Been using this quite a bit lately on my leaking tyre, awaiting for booking to be repaired. Super handy to have. Not fast but not too slow. Pumping from 35 to 42psi in about 3 mins.

    • +2

Are you taking about car tyre?

How accurate is the measurement (of PSI)?

      • +6

I have two of the v1 Xiaomi pumps (microusb/slower pump rate) and they've been great for filling car tyres at home (regular topups) but also on a rally car between stages putting a few psi in to tyres as need be. One does perform better (faster) than the other, but it's only noticeable on 5psi or more increases.

Bearing in mind that tyre pressure gauges all have their own -/+ accuracy, I've found this to be within 1psi of the goto gauge I've been using on the race car for 10+ years.

        • +- 1psi is accurate enough.

Do you regularly check afterwards with another gauge?

          • @JimB: Mine is more accurate as I only use kPa ~ 6.9x more precise ;)

            • +1

              @taki: Or 6.9x more inaccurate!

          • @JimB: For the race car? Every time.

      • Yeah, car tyre. Same reading as the Tesla tablet accurate.

"Pumping from 35 to 42psi in about 3 mins"

i think thats super slow sir.

  • +1

Mine after one flat out, it won't fully charge anymore, the light won't solid white, the micro USB version.

    • +1

Same here. It has been a paperweight for quite some time now.

      • Mine still able to topup a few psi, so still OK for me.

        • I simply couldn't get it to charge

  • Bought one similar thing on a previous sale here, can't remember if it was the same brand, very slow and painful. Better to buy a proper one that powers using the car battery either directly or through the 12v in the car

    • +4

      very slow and painful.

Product isn't designed for 'personal' use.

      • +4

Who are we to judge how @dealmaker is using their device.

        • +3

Point taken. No more kink shaming from me, Tom.

  • +1

You can find similar deals on AliExpress that are cheaper. I suggest getting the v2 of this instead of the 1s.

    • +1

I can't find any details about the v2.

      • There is a 2023 version 2 for sale on AliExpress but I can't tell what the difference is

        • Are you taking about this one? https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004820501043.html?gateway…

When I went to the Xiaomi Australian and Global websites, I could only find Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S

It wouldn't be the first time that AliExpress sold incorrectly/fake labelled/branded items.

          • @JimB: yeah that was the one - perhaps Karu could enlighten us otherwise I will just order the OP one

            • +1

              @zorak: Looks fake to me.

              Could be a 'Xioami'

          • +1

@JimB: Bought the v2 a couple weeks ago from Aliexpress. Looks identical to the 1s photos down to the bag and adaptors and has the Mi branding on the back, quality is in line with my other Xiaomi products

Supposedly released only a month ago so not a big concern that it's not yet updated on the Xiaomi website but there's reviews available online and on YT (also mentioning only the China version has been released, not Global)

I feel like if you're going to counterfeit it you would clone the existing model and not "release" a newer version

        • v2 have battery indicator and better pump rate. Can grab one around $65 delivered incl. GST.

  • These things are awesome! Bought one a year ago to keep my e-skateboard and scooter topped up. Totally worth the investment!

  • Wonder if these would be good for motorcycle tyres.

    • +1

I have no issue using mine on my car and e-scooter.

    • +1

I use mine for my motorcycle with a 190 rear and my cars. Been good. Saves me pulling out the air compressor for generally 2-3 psi top up.

    • +7

      Nice scam account.

The Xiaomi doesn't feel cheap at all, and is a good unit.

  • +1

This gets the job done, but is very noisy and slow. Takes about 3 minutes per tyre for 35 - 40, and while pump is working in garage I can hear it inside the house, I bet neighbours can hear also that's how noisy it is

Great to have for road trips though

  • +1

Can vouch for this pump. Is great for pumping up kids bike tyres and soccer balls.

  • bought, thanks OP

  • Disappointed with the battery on mine. Usually Xiaomi products have been good, but this one barely used, shows low battery straight after full charge

  • will this be ok to get my Hilux All Terrain tyres from 20psi to 38psi?

  • -1

Love my v1. Super handy for the cars and bikes.

  • Love mine.

  • +1

If you have spare battery lying around, this is $80, with 5 year hassle-free warranty. Yes, bigger, but also does air mattresses, etc.

I have the older version and it’s great. I use it on trailer tyres. OK it’s slow, but it does the job and it’s handy to keep in the car.

  • Anyone tried those kmart bike pumps to compare with this? I found them fit for both bikes and my car. It did not take much effort to pump my punctured car tyre after I fixed it.

  • Can this be used on road bike tyres ? 100 to 120 psi how long?

  • Are there any options for one that can also be used plugged in while it's charging?

  • See this post for version 2 model. Priced slightly more for some improvements.

  • Always take newsdotcomdotau article with grain of salt.
But these will be handy if those people letting air out of tyres start hanging around
