You can also do this with an oven safe bowl, and yea, I do this to make it easy to clean haha
Yep I use a bowl for single serves using the same method… just pull it out, stir fry or whatever on top and away you go with perfect rice and nothing but the bowl you ate with to clean

This particular pot is not going to cook soft in a regular kitchen conditions.

Random thing I figured out
If you get an inner pot that's smaller than your model it fits nicely inside on the rack.
I put rice in the small pot with the right amount of water, and then water in the main pot.
It does rice 100% better, no sticking or burning, no glugginess it's great
Essentially making a double boiler inside the pressure cooker
