I've been waiting for this to go on sale all year. RRP $159.95 and usually sits around $140, it hasn't been this cheap since last Christmas.

Not the cheapest price these have ever gone for, but for anyone who's been waiting for the last 6 months, this is the best price yet.

They've updated the price to $129 to match JB Hifi

Wish Playstation would fix the bug crackle in the mics which was caused by the 1440p and 3D Audio firmware update last year!

It happens on all wireless and wired headsets too.

    Pain in the ass

  • If you get these, do NOT lose the USB dongle! Can't order a replacement, and people selling them online know they're onto a good thing.

The headsets can be re-paired to a new dongle if you manage to wrangle one, but just be aware these aren't typical bluetooth-paired headsets.

Mine randomly drops out a bit, even with perfect line of sight to the console and transmitter/receiver plugged in the front. But it is very comfortable for long periods, and fits beautifully over the PSVR2 headset

    • Never had such problem. Mine is plugged in the back. I even go to toilet which is 20m away and still everything is fine. I don't play too long though, maybe 2 hours a day on average.

I guess I must get interference then because I can't even walk to my open plan kitchen less than 10m away without it dropping :(

I have 2 of these. 1 for PS4 & 1 for PC. Audio quality is very good and nice and loud, whereas $250 logitech decides to protect my likkle eardrums. Build quality is good, 1 did crack and I superglued. Ear pads super comfy, 1 has started to fray a little. USB C. Never had a drop out. Range isn't particularly good, a room or 2, probably not 3. Charge lasts quite a while and I think super quick to recharge. Apparently the microphone isn't good. I've not tested that too much. If microphone isn't a requirement i'd definitely recommend them. Can't imagine getting better headphones for this price point.

    • A friend already has these, and his microphone quality is fine when we're playing together. I wouldn't use the mic if you're trying to record videos or stream, but it's perfectly adequate for everyday gaming.

very dog of Sony to not allow us to use our own headphone with bluetooth.

  • Got these as well. Love them. Can't comment on the microphone as I've never used it (don't play online games). But for the price, definitely a lot bang for the buck.

  • $119 on Catch plus delivery fee (unless you have free delivery)

  • Would this be any better than the Audio Technica M50x (plugged into my controller)

  • Own one for two years now. Good headset giving its price, here are the cons for me:
    - if you leave it on and turn off the PS5, it will turn off after a few minutes - which is fine. But it doesn't reconnect to PS5 when you turn on the console. You have to manually switch it off and then on. Potentially this behaviour is to save power but still a pain.
    - My ears get really hot specially in summer
    - You cannot mute/unmute it using the controller's mute button (since the designers decided not to have a push-button mute/unmute switch on it)

Had these for over a year now and still have no idea which button I'm pressing on the ear, great headphones though

  • Anyone know how these compare to the arctis 7p+

I've had this from the very beginning of Ps5 being launched . After 12 months or so of regular use the cups liners started to lift. It's now completely lifted on both ears. It also has a tight fitment. After an hour of use I have to take them off and I start to get some level of pain.

They work great in terms of sound. You do get a good enough surround sound effect. I wouldn't call them headphones that blow you out of the water but just good.

Also I agree about the buttons. I have had mine for a long time now and I still randomly press buttons until I press the correct one. Best way is to take them off. However during game play it's obviously a bit hard to do so.

I didn't notice anyone complain about how the mic sounds. So I cannot comment on the mic quality. I'm planning on buying the H9. Fingers crossed they are a good improvement.
