Viomi S9 - Main Wheel Stuck

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone else purchased the Viomi S9 UV robot vacuum, had similar issues to me and managed to find a solution.

My Viomi S9 was constantly getting the "main wheel is stuck" error that has been noted here and on other forums - despite the wheels seemingly being find and no obstacles.

I sent it to Panmi Official Service Centre for repair. It has been returned to me with the error still persisting.

Service was atrocious. They actually sent it back to me missing parts (main brush and the cover) despite charging me for these items. They sent back a report to say that they had run diagnostics and tests and the unit is fine.

Its come back with even more errors. Not only does it have the same "main wheel is stuck" error popping up ever 4mins, it also has "side sensor" issues and "anti fall" errors (despite being on a flat surface).

I have reset the device via the pin button and no luck. Not sure what else to try.

Has anyone had any luck getting Panmi to honor the repair service and fix it (I paid for it). Alternatively, any luck fixing the unit?

When I messaged the Panmi rep about acl on Viomi they dodged answering it every way possible :)

Quite simply I advocate to not support this seller

Seriously - NEVER again. The repair service is an absolute scam. Not to mention they held the unit for over a month. I will be looking to replace when a deal pops up but would be nice to have a fix in the interim.

  • Agree i think it should be banned from ozbargain

I ended up chucking mine in the bin. Crapped itself after like 15 months. Mine had sensor issues and spun in circles. Panmi didn't want to hear about it. I ended up buying replacement parts myself on Aliexpress but didn't fix the problem.

    • I am about to do the same, I have just replaced the wheels and within 3 months it it getting stuck jammed again. The battery is also rubbish I get about 6 months out of a battery if I am lucky before it needs tocharge 3 times toclean my small house.

My OG roborock has a 2 year old battery and it lasts longer, the wheels are also original.

I had the same main wheel stuck issue. Tried manually rolling the wheel to identify stuck one then proceeded to open it. Successfully removed wheel module, dismantled the wheel itself (you have to remove the tyre) to find the screws and wheel internals were broken. Poured all broken pieces out of the wheel, reassembled everything and it works fine! Definitely worth having a go yourself. Extra wheel modules can be purchased on aliexpress if you fail to get it working again.

  • Fixed my unit as @Livert did. Just removed the loose screws inside the wheel. Doesn't seem to have an effect.
The challenge was opening the wheel. The last gear cog was held by an e-clip so it was not obvious how to remove it.
I have also learned since that you can buy replacement wheel assembly in aliexpress for around $25. That was my fallback if my efforts ended in failure. Still happy I fixed it rather than spend ozbargain dollars :)

    • Thanks Libran6 for the information …. found some loose screws and reasonable dust / hairball stuck inside the wheel.
Hopefully will start working well once it is all cleared out.
PS: the tip about e-clip holding the last gear cog was very helpful !

  • I got the same issue but with Ecovac Deebot N9 - currently arranging for repair but need to pay $99 for diagnostic alone and additional costs for the repair. Keep showing Main Wheel Stuck (one of the wheel does not work). Just had it just over 2 years.

My Roborock still running well after 4 years with no issues ….
