    • Why are people downvoting the deal? It's a decent price for a decent 7900xt.

      • It's kind of irrelevant? Completely different budget tier and performance compared to the 6700xt.

    • Sold out - to those who picked up the final cards, enjoy

  • +1

How many 6700xt deals are you going to post ? I’ve seen about 4 so far!

    • +5

Desperate attempt to clear before it becomes paperweight :^)

      • Are new cards expected soon?

  • +3

beware gigabyte gpu pcb are known for cracking, and they refuse warranty.

They are trying to sell out the 6700/XT stock before they release the 7700/XT GPUs - kind of means the new GPUs will suck (because AMD does not want you choosing between 6700 / 7700 since you can no longer get 6700 because they are sold out!) ;)

    • When is 7 series expected? Need to upgrade from my 1070gtx as I just upgraded to a 4K 144Hz monitor but don't mind waiting
Need to do a full build as my CPU is 8 years old as well

      • +2

4k @ 144Hz will be better served with 7900XT/X, 4080/4090 … Anything else will require FSR/DLSS and look blurry :/

        • Might have to splurge on the 7900. Are prices expected to come down?

      • Have a look at this GPU guide from Toms Hardware to get a general idea of what performance to expect at 4K with various GPUs.
4K60 @ Ultra is hard to achieve with mid tier cards. 4K144 is in the realms of top of the line cards.

    • Rumor : AMD Radeon RX 7800 to Cost Same as the RX 6800: 16GB VRAM and Faster than the RTX 4070 Rumor link to Hadrwaretimes article

      • +1

Some of us have lived through the rumors and know none of them are true ;)

More likely 4070 performance at the same MSRP that the 6800 released at (when mining prices were insane) ~ $US579 (~$AU900) …

Intels Battlemage will be the only GPUs that breaks the current price/performance status quo :/

The RX6700/XT are the same GPUs in the Playstation and Xbox, so there are a lot of game ports that run crazy well on 6700/XT's
(to the point of beating 6800XTs)

        • +1

If it matches 4070 performance and costs the same its not going to do very well, considering it would only match in rasterisation and not have all the other NVIDIA bells and whistles (RT, DLSS, AI etc).

If costing the same, it needs to beat the 4070 in rasterisation and have more VRAM, this is more likely, not unlike all the current price to performance match ups.

Also, can you name a single game where the 6700/XT beats the 6800XT?

          • @Grish:

Also, can you name a single game where the 6700/XT beats the 6800XT?

            Pretty easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfh5r0mAq90&t=82s

            • @7ekn00: Ok that's one obscure example from one obscure YT guy…

You did say a lot of game ports though…

If the 6700/XT beats the 6800XT in anything at all, then it's an anomaly and probably a specific problem with someone's test rig.

Also seems SAM related, so I guess it's possible there's some driver combo issues between his MOBO/bios/amd drivers and the game itself (everyone knows TLOU is the world's worst optimised game ever to be made).

    • Isn't that caused by incompetent and saggy GPU installations?

    • damn everytime I want to pull the trigger on a new card, something always comes up

anyway, I have been using something like this for years:

      https://www.pccasegear.com/products/61614/powercolor-graphic…

mine was from Coolermaster, got it from Amazon for like $20, before that, I just used some odd piece of timber off cuts, trim it down to size, and painted it black with a permanent marker.

  • Is shallothead trustworthy? How will they be if I need to submit a warranty claim?

    • personally, I haven't had much luck

tl:dr sent ram back for warranty and got ghosted by shallothead, I have no ram and no refund

keeping read if you are bored :)

      • bought some ram from them back in 2019
      • a year'ish later it developed problem (confirmed by swapping out the ram and the issue went away)
      • initially shallothead agreed to refund, so I sent the ram back
      • ram was returned to me a month or two later, claiming it was replaced
      • contacted them again, they said ok send them back for refund, so I did
      • a week or two later they confirmed receiving the ram and agree to refund, they asked for my paypal address
      • a month or two later still no refund
      • i contacted them again and this time they claim they have never received the ram
      • they ignored me when I pointed out their previous response
      • then they ghosted me
      • by then purchase was over 2 years old so I doubt ebay or the credit card company would've helped me, and I have already discarded the tracking details when they confirmed they have received the item (big mistake I know) so I don't really have anything to pursue them with, but in a hindsight, I guess I should've at least tried something ie fair trading, but it was peak covid lockdowns so I had other bigger problems to deal with.

so yeah, in the end, I have no ram or money, and are also out of pocket for 2 x return postage, but I hope you will have better luck than me if you choose to buy from them, and make sure to keep your receipts if you ever need to lodge warranty.

the original receipt I got from them has the company name of K S Computers on it, I believe they also operate under shopping-express and Futu Online and a few other names on ebay, pretty sure there has been a few threads on Ozbargain about them over the years (my apologies if these businesses are in fact not related)

by comparison, my last two warranty return with MSY (long before they became UMART) was flawless, no fuss, no stuffing around, 100% hassle free transaction.
