Just received a Camels email alerting me to a near-record low.
Insane price for Advocate, which is usually $149 at PetStock or $119.20 with current 20% off. If like me, you have dogs then this is a no-brainer at this price.

I've always used this product on my dogs, so can defiantly vouch for the quality and safety.

  • Does anyone know what the difference is between this, Sentinel and Nexguard? they all seem to target the same thing - comprehensive worm and flea treatment.

    • +1

This is a liquid applied to the back of the dogs neck under the collar. I couldn’t tell you the differences specifically as I haven’t used Sentinel or Nexguard.

    • +2

Nexguard Spectra has coverage for Ticks while this one doesn't

  • any special price for small dog under 5kg? yes !
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00ZQANMI6

edit duh that is just 3

  • also is this the one for all tablets? ie equal to nexguard spectra range ?

    • This isn’t a tablet but a liquid applied to the back of the dogs neck under the collar.

      • ah i see.
oh well probably just get nexg spectra i feel tablet is easier and that spectra covers everything (i think)

        • Yes. Nexguard spectra covers everything. Changed to Nexguard when my vet showed me the comparison chart against all the other brands.

  • +1

I changed to Neovet, same ingredients but is always at a low price.

    • Same here
Found out Neovet cheaper via eBay

      • It doesnt apply as easily. Squeezing the bottle etc can be a little tricky and get it on my hands occasionly. But was tired of stocking up on Advocate and it getting close to expiry as i only use it every 2-3 months, not monthly

        • but what is the science behind them, i thought the tablet will have better effect ? i mean that drop is just one small area, tablet can go through the whole body..
well obviously im a noob not a vet

          • @CyberMurning: It seeps into the blood stream i think.
Same as you use a drench in cattle/sheep i guess

    • Yep, making Advocate not a bargain at all.
$50.24 with free shipping here https://www.https://www.vetsupply.com.au/flea-and-tick-contr…

Plus another 7% off with EOFY7 code making it $46.72

  • If anyone wants just worming tablets then the Milbemax ones a good price at $19.95 for two treatments (5-25kg)

Personally I've moved away from Nexgard Spectra as I don't see the point in drugging my dogs for flea prevention unnecessarily, if they do ever get fleas then I will treat it then, it's not a serious concern for me.

  • Only third party sellers now, looks like out of stock
