Well built, sounds amazing, but its like wearing a basket of bricks on your head.

    • +5

It’s called fashun Brenda look it up 😂

    • They're not that bad, only 385g, my Audeze Maxwell's are 490g.

    • So hot right now!

  • +8

Not a good buy. Some of the new features from iOS 17 like adaptive audio ptransparency are not coming to AirPods Max because of the old chip.

    • Oh, Thanks for share the info. What about the 2nd generation of AirPods? In same situation?

      • Yep, that also uses the same H1 chip. Only the AirPods Pro 2 will be receiving the adaptive audio transparency and automatic device switching update.

Am I the only one wonders what planet do we live on that a pair of headphones now costs $700?

    • +3

No. Plenty of headphones that cost more and have for many many years

    • +4

Wait till you see some expensive ones.

I got me and missus some HE-1's https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-AU/p/sennheiser-he-1/ but I found it a bit lacking in mid-range so sent them back. Not got time to mess about like that.

      • +2

Same - was a bit dissapointed with the mids with these too. Glad I wasn't the only one.

      • That banner image looks like some new-age Nazi gene farm

You really threw down $85,000 to try these out?

        • +1

          I suspect they’re joking.

          • @1r4n14n:

            I suspect they’re joking

It’s $10,000 dep just to submit an order!

Y never know wi these WA trawler trillionaires

            • @0jay: Only for the true audiophile bell-end.

        • I really do need to start hiding my credit card when I've had a few beers. Got a decent haul of FF points mind.

          • @hotphil: I’m at most risk of buying sht I don’t need when I’m avoiding work. Remedy would seem to be to just knuckle down and do whatever I’m supposed to be doing but apparently I’m too smart to fool myself like that

          • @hotphil: I know the feeling, I stupidly purchased this after a few beers when I could’ve purchased a house: https://www.toiletpaper.com.au/24-carat-gold-toilet-paper-1-…

            • @1r4n14n: You a West Aussie too?

Do y not have one of those koi douche pool bidets?

  • +2

So what exactly did they re-imagine?

    • +19

      The price

    • +6

your wallet with nothing in it

    • +4

Honestly, why would anyone spend that much on a pair of headphones?

      • Especially being Apple…

        • +2

So over priced and just a show off piece of tech.

      • -3

To flex on poor people like you.

        • -1

Wow! I should feel offended right now, but I'm not.

I'm not a huge music listener, I have the Huawei Freebuds Pro and they do the job just fine. No need to flex.

          • +1

@itsmoe: The ironic part is, only people who pretend they’re rich flex on others with expensive belongings. People who are actually rich don’t need to flex at all. Except if you’re a knob jockey called Adrian Portelli.

            • @1r4n14n: That is true, I hate people who are always flexing, used to work with a dude who did all the time drove me nuts.

  • +3

    Lol nah I'm good hey

  • I would look for 2nd hand there have been some good deals.

In terms of noise cancelling they're basically best of the best, but also, there are other headphones that are 80% as good for 40-50% of the price.

  • +1

Every time these get posted there is a crowd that gets annoyed by these. Don't like them scroll down. There are plenty of things that are expensive than these. My daily driver is more than twice the cost of these but I enjoy them everyday. Would I recommend those to everyone? Heck no!!

If you are after best in NC these are your go to (I have these and XM5 but I use these 9 out of 10 times). But if you are on budget and not too much into sound XM5 and XM4 are far better choice for you.

  • People on facebook sell these for like $250-$350. Knock offs or the margins are just so big with apple?

    • Knock-offs or unauthorised stock relocations.
