    ?doesnt post to QLD

    • Same (Brisbane) - can't get it recognise any address and won't let me add to cart.

  • Am I understanding correctly that the 'Max 2' has better front suspension, and some other upgrades over this original G65?

I've been researching it, and finding it hard to pin this info down. I see the 'Max 2(G65)' advertised at Lucky_official on eBay, but then the photos and description don't seem to be any different: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/354636495566?epid=15060629575&ha…

G65 is the original Australian version and now there's a Max G2 (G65) that's the US version with new features. Mostly new handlebars with indicators, more powerful 900W rear motor and find my scooter tracking. The suspension is the same.

      • Oh…so Max 2 not here yet eh?

lucky_official misrepresenting there with the listing I linked? That's official Xiaomi isn't it?

Sorry…a bit new to this. Hadn't really been considering scooters, as I'll usually ride to work or take the bus if I need to. Strikes me that the scooter might be more fun than the bus on those days I'd usually elect to take it (other than rainy days, which might not be much fun). Have ridden the hire scooters, though I think I'd prefer something with suspension tbh.

        Thanks for your reply.

        • There's two G65's. The original Australian version (this) and now a new US model originally released on crowdfunding that has bumped up specs. Segway AU are calling the latter the Max G2 to avoid confusion between the G65. Both are genuine.

          • @Clear: Ahh right. Thanks. I see now, on Segway au they don't even list G65…just Max G2. So presume now running down stock levels of original G65.

…and 'Max 2' (in some listings) differentiates from the G30 Max maybe? Wow…confusing stuff…for me anyway.

Have to say, I wouldn't mind the additional few features in the Max G2. Only one I can find is $1,601.76 with sydney(jack)mobiles though (I add 'jack' because…well…retail is $1,699, and SM has it at $1,901.76 without code…so they have certainly upped the price there for this sale).

I'm sure Max G2 will come down in price as G65 original stocks diminish…but then maybe there will be something else to wait for eh. HODL!!

@Banj0: It's worth mentioning the distribution of Segway has changed. Panmi had the contract and now Segway themselves have taken over. The G65 stock will be from Panmi and cheaper than the Max G2 from Segway AU. The way of telling the difference is the handlebars.

              • @Clear: Yeah…found better price for Max G2 at allphones ($1,482 with discount)…but that's still $600 more than this. If it were available at closer to $1k….

        • binglee has the Max G2 for 1499.

G65 is a spec down version, "exclusive" for Australia, better get the new G2 instead

  • My driver's licence is suspended and I need to buy a scooter for going to my local super market, I don't know much about scooters and live in a hilly area.

Is this one a better scooter?

    https://scooterhut.com.au/products/niu-kqi3-max-electric-kic…

    • it has a 25% maximum slope climbing, better than most of the scooters on the market.

      • Thanks for the info, apparently Max G2 provides a better ride and comes with a much better app and costs only $100 extra.

    • Save yourself the money and get this, from the specs, is comparable, but doesnt list the W of the motor only 900W max which is comparable to the ultra (one spec above this)

      • True, what do you think about the Max G2? It's got traction control and few other extras

  • DAMN. I wish i saw this post rather than the Panmi deal advertising for 999

  • Been getting mighty close to buying one of these after years of deliberation, but I'm still unable to find vic law specifics on two things.

Do the Aus locked units count as devices that are "one capable of more than 25km/h" as they can be unlocked? I assume I'm good if I don't unlock em, but lack of source on this leaves me nervous.

Are they legal to be carried on PTV? I see people with them on trains, but I also see people breaking the law (ie use of footpaths etc) so I'm quite unsure. I'm also unsure if rules on buses or trams may differ.

Having quite a hard time finding answers. Perhaps there are none.

To be legally sold in Australia they can't exceed 25km/h out of the box. So these are street legal.

Are they legal to be carried on PTV?

Best to follow the guidelines on Bicycles as they haven't updated it to specifically mention escooters.8

This is what I'm hoping. But as I understand it, Device import law may differ from state law.
(also allphones seems to be selling unlocked G2 and higher speeds are fine on private property, so I scratch my head at the import law a little)
Maybe I'm over-thinking it, but neither state nor import law give me the detail I hope for, so I will have take that gamble ig

Again, shame it's a bit nebulous atm, but I didn't think of looking to bicycle guidelines as a reference point.
        Thanks a bunch!

        • Import law? I don’t think federal law will cover these at all…they’re not like weapons or drugs. Besides, these have already been imported.

        • This is what I'm hoping. But as I understand it, Device import law may differ from state law.

Same rules apply. Can't be capable of more than 25km/h and they're not out of the box. Unless you intend on buying from overseas to be resold for your own business the import laws are irrelevant.

  • Few questions i want to ask (op clear or others) as i’m trying to figure everything out,

Which Segway is better the G65 Max 2 or the Max G2 with the indicators etc , i’d assume the G2 Max with the indicators is better?

Also the links i’ve attached below the scooterhut one says it only does 25kmph but on electrickicks it says 35kmph, ebay allphones says 900w max power, scooterhut 450w rear motor - “For example if i got the one from scooterhut will it go 25 or 35kmph?” Or is the electrickicks one a global edition that can go 35kmph and the scooterhut one can only 25kmph because it’s not a global edition? Also is there a difference in rear motor/max power between the G65 Max, G2 Max?
