When I worked at Qantas as a contractor, a fellow contractor said to the team that he'd finally joined up, and complained about the cost. We all facepalmed :/

Join right before your next flight (not a month in advance) if your travel is on the borderline of achieving gold. Their yearly status credit reset happens on the join date, not the first travel date
I have signed up to QF using a friends referral code, only got 1 month free. Is it possible to somehow upgrade to this? or would I need to create a new account?
The scam is even trying to charge people honestly
