    This brings back memories!

    • +3

If you want real nostalgia, play the actual games on an emulator instead of assembling little plastic cubes. Just my opinion.

      • Yep, more plastic waste. Just as bad as those Funko Pops.

    Just buy the real thing

    • +7

      Probably cheaper too 😂

That was my thought! Saw a cheapy not too far away a few days ago…this weirdly motivates me to go get it!

I feel bad for people struggling with inflation, then I see said people buying shit like this..

    • Haha, completely missing the point. You could probably say that about every Lego product.

I considered this with 21333 and settled for the Lego…

        • Good one lol. I was thinking something like the 42083 or maybe the 10307…

  • Beware just went to redeem my vip coupon that I had -typed the amount, clicked redeem. The coupon value has just disappeared from my balance (now showing $0) but got no coupon. Just got error style message saying unable to provide coupons at this time, please try again soon or contact your local store….grrrr. Have sent message to Lego Support but auto message to say someone will get back to you soon.
Freaking hate how the system conveniently can't provide the coupons suddenly.

    • The website is totally glitching out. It's not giving me an option to choose delivery, only Click & Collect. Also says my rewards redemption code is invalid. It shouldn't be, they send it to me themselves, because the rewards system doesn't work at all for me.

I'm gonna take this as a sign that this will be cheaper later. I think the market for this set is pretty limited.

I think some people have gone Lego mad.

If this unit had an Atari emulator inside, that let you play all of the original games after connecting it to a smart tv, I could get that.

…. but whatever makes people happy.

    • +1

      that would be awesome

    • I wonder if it's possible to fit a raspberry pi inside? Retropi was surprisingly good when I last tried it a few years ago on a 3b

Lego is the building experience and also having the pieces to build other things. It's not an Atari console except as a display of Lego.

You can't really compare a model of something against the actual thing, otherwise there'd be no point to Lego, construction toys, plastic model kits, gunpla, premium format statues, high-end action figures, etc.

It was 50% off the other day from Lego Dreamworld store

    • Argh missed that!

      • Didn’t we all

    • Did u post it on OzB

      ?

      • Nah it was sold out before I got a chance to even get one

This goes to show people still have way too much money in their hands. No wonder the RBA is trying to fix that.

    • 100%.

    • -2

      boomer

      • I think you mean not a boomer

Time to stop repeating jokes without thinking about whether they apply

    • The RBA wants people to be poor? Oh that’s right only the so-called middle class.

Really should had 2600 pieces…just saying

    • How many does it have? The box in the picture says 2532, but the website says 2961.

      • +1

Looks like 2529 pieces, but yeah they missed a trick not adding another 70-odd to make it 2600 :(

As much as I love Lego.. Their prices are ridiculous.

Check out yourwobb or hitian for a much cheaper alternative..

If you're not fussed about the logo on the bricks…

  • I hope they release a Nintendo 64

  • Just get the old Atari or Amiga out of the storage.

    • Lego Atari 2600 not Atari ST :P

  • I still have all my old Atari games :)
