Hi everyone,

We're excited to bring to you our latest offering, the Aurora - Value Edition, powered by a TUF RTX 3070. We've done the best we can on pricing this build considering current market, vendor and supplier prices. We don't see the 30 series cards go cheaper. They are currently clearing stock and once it's gone, it's gone.

Check out our reviews

Before diving into the specifications, let's touch on some unique features of our offering:

Operating System: We do not pre-install any operating system unless you purchase a license, but rest assured we perform all stress tests to ensure the top performance of your machine.

CPU Customisation: We've used the lowest CPU we possibly can to give you the most customisation options. If you're budget conscious, you can get an excellent price or you can choose to upgrade to the CPU you desire. It's all about what you need. (We recommend a CPU upgrade if your budget allows it).

GPU Downgrade & 4070 Upgrade Options: If the 3070 is too much power for your needs, we offer downgrade options for the GPU as well. We also have an upgrade path to a PNY 4070. Tailor your machine to match your specific usage and budget.

SSD Pricing: We've adjusted the SSD pricing on PCPartPicker to reflect current market conditions, giving you a more accurate price point.

PCPartPicker Prices: We've manually tweaked prices on PCPartPicker to represent the current market price, specifically for the CPU (which was listed too high) and for the case (reflecting the accurate stock availability from retailers).

Additionally, our motherboard is PCIe Gen 3. While this doesn't significantly impact this configuration, we offer a Gen 4 B550 motherboard upgrade with WiFi if you're interested.

At Enigma PC, we pride ourselves on the exceptional services we offer with our PCs, which we believe set us apart from our competitors:

  • Quick and efficient support via email, phone, and live-chat
  • A customer-friendly and fast warranty process (modify your PC to your heart's content; your warranty remains valid unless the changes directly cause issues)
  • Usage of higher value components wherever feasible
  • Pre-installed Windows (if license is purchased) with all drivers and SignalRGB
  • Thorough quality control testing to ensure your PC is in perfect working order before shipping
  • High-quality packaging to shield against transit damage
  • Transparent and fast dispatch times

very old components, cannot see why it is a deal, just a stock clearance in my view

    • -6

Yes, the components are older. It doesn't mean it's not a deal though. This is stock clearing. We do offer upgrade paths.

    • +9

Nothing wrong with older components, but the price is about $200 too high.

  • -7

"If the 3070 is too much power for your needs" - WTF?

    • +3

We do have corporate customers who are not after powerful GPUs but just want cheap pricing, for them the savings on a cheaper GPU makes sense

    • it's just the corporate way of reframing it from being too expensive. to be fair the body paragraph does have a moderate likelihood of being written by AI

  • +2

Won't the 3600 bottleneck the 3070 in CPU heavy games like Fortnite?

    • +2

Yes it can become a bottleneck on CPU heavy tasks, that's why we provided upgrade options and we encourage people to upgrade the CPU if they have budget left.

The idea behind offering a lower CPU is it allows people to pick parts that match what they are using their computer for, that way they dont have to spend money on components that they will not really utilise fully.

heya - I am a little confused as to where your target market/ business model stands.

from the below response you provided, you are mentioning that it is the quality service and parts (putting together the computer and also providing excellent support). This clearly is targeted to less tech savvy demographic; however, in the response above - how is your average consumer able to know what they should spend upgrades on & what parts?

i feel they're contradictory to each other.

        • We have a lot of customers who contact us and ask us to assist with their upgrades. We find out what they need the PC for and recommend upgrades that fit into their budget. This is part of the support we provide

Bad deal, would expect these specs to be sub $1K

With last-gen GPU prices crashing faster than the Australian economy, pre-built PC vendors have lost their #1 advantage

Currently, $1.1K gets you Zen 3, B550 + Gen 4 PCIe and A-Tier 850W Gold PSU that will last you multiple upgrades

We would respectfully disagree with you.

Although it would be nice to have these components sub $1K that's not the reality and its not actually selling at those prices. If we could, we would offer it.

Your PCPP list is not much cheaper than our deal and will not perform better in raw performance and actually offers less features (one m.2 slot, only 2 RAM DIMM slots) . Our deal also includes:

      • Assembly
      • Warranty
      • technical support

You will get no official technical support from any of those stores and if you have warranty issues you have to deal with multiple stores. You will also need to assemble it yourself with no assistance from those stores.

Although there are people who do not value technical support or assembly of their PC, there are more people that do not want to build their own PC and would like to buy one with quality components that will last. That is our target market and for them, this is a good deal.

Your build list is a collection of the cheapest and lowest end parts you can find in every category and expecting us to match or beat it when we use quality components is neither fair nor realistic.

I encourage you to find a like for like PC being sold by someone else for a similar price.

      • +1

I encourage you to find a like for like PC being sold by someone else for a similar price.

That's a pretty disingenuous request if you're going so far as nitpicking RAM and m.2 slots.
with the amount of components involved in a PC you'll always be able to find some difference.

I think the root of the issue is ozbargainers have higher standards for prebuilts due to various expired deals in recent memory.
You can definitely defend the point that those aren't available anymore so this PC isn't bad value. But it's going to be tough to sell it as good value to someone who missed or passed on one of those better deals.

        • the components from this builder are better than the average budget basement from most OZ retailers,

e.g the TUF MB and GPU as well as Corsair RAM are a couple of examples,

unfortunately higher tier components don't gather much sway with the OZ crowd,

          • @Rod M: RAM brand makes 0 difference, the only thing that matters is the speed+latency. 3200c16 and 3600c18 are pretty much neck and neck, both can have their speeds+timings tuned to match the other if that really matters to you. One game might like lower timings more, another might like higher throughput more.

MB will also not matter for a low end part like the 5500. An extra fan on the gpu isn't worth a 50 dollar premium when all these gpu models are within 3% of each other in terms of performance. Brands matter less and less now with how much components are pushed to their limits out of the factory (same with overclocking which is dying due to this). Funnily enough the thing that matters the most now is the reputation of the brands ie gigabyte with their psus or asus with their mbs.

          • @Rod M: That is definitely a factor, other prebuilt deals tend to cheap out hard on the mobos and PSUs.

To clarify i don't think this is a bad product. I just dont think this is as good as some deals i've seen on here so it's not good either. It's like, normal.

1 aspect is the discount on the parts. This one is only $55 cheaper than the parts market cost but we often see deals where the sale price is discounted over $200 from the component prices. Examples: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/781089 and https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/776836
As OP said, any discount at all is a deal considering the assembly, support and savings on delivery. But this is the same seller as those deals, presumably that value is present on those builds as well, plus they're more discounted so they feel like better deals.

Another aspect is the price to performance. The 3600 is kind of overpriced at $139. This deal cheaped out on the mobo and ssd but was able to fit a better CPU, RAM and GPU into roughly the same budget

I shouldn't have tried to speak for everybody when it may just be me, but I think if I didn't buy any of the great deals that have been showing up here in the last few months, I would not suddenly be reaching for my wallet for this one.

I would just be waiting for another one to come along.

    • +1

Definitely agree with you, just letting you know that the 5500 is limited to pcie 3.0.

    • To be completely fair to the vendor, the HDV is kind of a a dogturd board and its not worth PCIe 4 for that piece of shit over the pretty decent B450 TUF board on offered. And its not like you get PCIe 4 with a 5500 anyway, only after a CPU upgrade

  • Seems expensive.
