AMD Ryzen 5 7730u CPU <— This is Zen 3, not Zen 4. So not latest gen Ryzen CPU

    • Ah yes just looked up some benchmarks. Have updated post to reflect they're a newer version compared to the E series Gen 4 AMD models.

    • Correct. Was tossing up between this or similar thinkpad with Ryzen 7xxx CPU and ThinkPad P series with Ryzen 6800.
Went with P as 6800u is Zen 3+

    AMD naming scheme is confusing.

refer to this chart - https://images.anandtech.com/doci/18718/AMD%20CES%202023%20C…

This is not even zen 3+, its zen 3.

  • Any cash back offer for Lenovo at the moment?

13.2% on Shopback. Essentially brings this laptop down to about $900.

      • Thanks mate. Let me check

Not really a deal IMO. EOFY computing deals have been pretty bad this year.

  • is the monitor any good? my last lenovo screen with 200 nits was too dim. this is 300 nits, is that good enough?

    • It'll do the job ok. In our fleet the difference between 250 nit on the Gen 2 vs 300 nit on the Gen 4 is noticeable. The colour reproduction isn't great (45% NTSC) but if you're not fussy it'll be fine doing general stuff.

  • Hey guys need some advice, is this one good for running online business:

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpade/thinkpad-e16-(16-inch-intel)/21jn003pau

Also, cashrewards is having a 14% cashback for lenovo, so it comes down to $1297.

Is there any laptop better than this lenovo around same price?

    Thanks

That's about as good value as you can get for a T16. Can upgrade the RAM in the future quite easily. If you don't have Education Store access I'd say go for it. If you also have an ABN, worth signing up to the Lenovo Pro store could get some other deals…

  • I don't have edu store access. I have ABN I'll sign up and see what's other deals. Also, i saw this one on ebay and not sure what's the difference. It's also reduced by $300. Thanks

Would go the ThinkPad over that one. Bigger battery, better build quality and 16:10 display compared to 16:9. Only think the ThinkBook has going is that it has a dedicated graphics card (albeit not a very powerful one) which is only useful if playing some basic games, video rendering etc.

That's all good! Links don't work but the last two look like 11th gen CPU's which are a couple of years behind now.

          • @zonarhd: Thanks mate i bought the lenovo LOQ. Got a few recommendation on the bing lee extra15% post.
