nbn Releases Month/Year ETAs for FTTN to FTTP Upgrade Locations

An update for those wanting to get off copper and move onto FTTP.

Upgrades to the Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) network

Upgrade works are almost complete in eligible areas. Most homes and businesses on the FTTC network will have the opportunity to connect to full fibre via FTTP by the end of 2023.

Upgrades to the Fibre to the Node (FTTN) network

We're progressively making upgrades across the FTTN network so more homes and businesses have the opportunity to connect to full fibre via FTTP.

This list is updated regularly as our fibre upgrade program progresses.

Check to see if you can order nbn FTTP today or get an ETA for the remainder of 2023 to December 2025.

Change from FTTN or FTTC to FTTP by Upgrading to a Faster Speed Plan (Select Locations) @ nbn co via Participating ISPs

Doesn't mean much IMO, my suburb is showing from December 2022 but still not available.

    • Exactly!

Our suburb was showing from August 2021 and we're still waiting.

Better than previous message of by 2025. Some of my area went live 2 months early.

    • Have you looked into it further and contacted your ISP?

Mine was being late, then I saw other addresses near me were available. Turned out to be because there's two properties on the same block (so unit 1 and 2), hassled my ISP a bit and they got it sorted with NBN.

Lucky ours is pretty spot on, says June 23 and was eligible on 10th June. Few streets away not so lucky though lol

  • Does anyone have any feedback on the upgrade process? Was it quick? Any dramas? Was the work neat? Time frame from when you booked to when they they arrived..

I've seen some real horror stories on facebook where the installers have run a riot with the conduit.

For those upgrading, don't forget to return your FTTC box so it can be recycled https://return.auspost.com.au/NBNCO

    October 2023 for me

  • What happens if your suburb and all those surrounding are missing?

nbn said there is one more list of locations coming for the by 2025 group. I assume more FTTN to FTTP will get rolled out from 2026 but nothing has been announced.

  • Have they announced anything about HFC to FTTP?

    • nbn are not swapping HFC to FTTP for free.

Go to here for a HFC to FTTP free quote. Usually $10k to $20k all up.

  • FINALLY Dec 23.

Do you need an active NBN service to qualify for FTTP upgrade? I went from FTTN to VDSL (Canberra) as the speed was better. Hopefully I can just get a new FTTP straight away (assuming Dec 23 actually happens!)
