Amazon expected to announce a new range of Kindles on Sept 6.

    • Widely rumoured to be backlit, like the Kobo Touch with Glowlight.

        You mean front lit.

  • It seems it's not extremely cheap, (I've found the same price elsewhere in australia)
And it seems amazon is actually selling this for $150US…that's not $14 cheaper, more like $70 cheaper.
Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Actually not a bad price for the 3G kindle, but as others have mentioned a new range is coming out and it is more than likely they will have the one feature I miss on my older (keyboard) model which is a built in light for reading at night. Personally I still won't update when the new one comes out though - the loss of the ability to browse (if poorly/slowly) the internet with the new 3G models is a major convenience feature loss for me when I travel…. without that, I might as well just get the wifi only model when mine finally kicks the bucket.

    • Be careful with this 3G model - I do believe the non-keyboard Kindles have the 3G for book delivery only, Amazon website and wikipedia. Other sites (unlike the keyboard 3G) are blocked.
