Here are some more deals for you.
First up are a Kitchenaid Artisan mixer and a Kenwood Chef titanium mixer - no need to waste time with the "famous" COTD sale today.
Then there is another coffee maker - I just put one in here as there are quite a few in previous posts.
And finally, some projectors/beamers for professional purposes (presentations) or simply for use as a big screen TV or gaming screen.
Using the affiliate links when you buy would be greatly appreciated. It does not cost you anything - it merely reduces Amazon's profit a tiny bit and helps our research.

Has anyone investigated the practicality of buying a TV from Amazon?

The shipping cost would need to be screwy, as it often is.

    •

The issues of pal/SECAM etc.. Not sure if these issues still apply. Voltage differences, and tv's are pretty cheap here. Haggle for cheaper!

    Posting amazon deals are great.

On a side note, i bought a kitchenaid US model for ~ 275US delivered and paid $80 for a australian made converter. It might be a pain to use a converter but now half my kitchen is US appliances which i scored for 1/5 the price that you buy here in OZ. (blenders, dicers, etc)

      Where from? Amazon us?

Yes,Amazon.US. Different colours are different prices. Use Camelcamelcamel.com to track.

        I paid:
        Price: US $226.71
        Shipping US $73.22

        Transformer: http://www.tortech.com.au/product/500-watt-economy-stepdown/

I wouldn't risk the kitchen aid with the cheap $10 transformer from ebay

I just tried to order one. Even though its sold by a different company and Fulfilled by Amazon. they will not ship to australia.

        •

It must be sold AND shipped by Amazon - otherwise you have no chance of the item being shipped to Australia.

        •

I was simply going by the link that Tarnsie posted.. Searched for ones sold by amazon but there are currently non on special.

    •

      Which model?

    •

I'm really happy to hear your feedback on this. I have a US kitchenaid too but haven't tried using it with a transformer yet. I've heard some comments that people say the motor can break? How long/often have you been using your KA with the transformer?

I'm a total noob when it comes to VAT. The Kitchenaid Artisan 5KSM150PSEBU costs EUR 431,84. I'm told that when I go to checkout, as long as my address is set as Australa, the VAT gets taken out and then the delivery cost is only added.

So when I checked out the mixer came to EUR 361.07, delivery is £ 72.40 which totals EUR 433.47. I thought Vat in France was 19.6%, but it looks like Amazon France only took 16.38% VAT. Also under the total amount it says "The total order includes VAT.".. WTF?

    • +1 vote

That is correct. Do not worry about the terminology (technically VAT is included - the VAT though is 0 as it goes to Oz so it is included). I am not sure about the exact VAT in France but that is the best you will get. We can just be grateful that Amazon does this at all as many other merchants overseas won't.
You did everything right - all that you need to do is to click the purchase (achete) or order button and in about 3-4 days you will have your mixer.
Using my affiliate link would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more help, just comment again or PM me. I am happy to help as best as I can.

In regards to VAT, it varies state by state, but in either way it is always impossible to get the entire amount deducted due to admin fees. However, online transactions receive more VAT back than claiming in person. eg I just came back from France 2 months ago, whenever I bought things, to claim VAT back I only got 9-10% max.

    is the red kitchenaid available?

  •

what converter do you need from france or italy? is there any warrenty?? anyone know??

    •

No converter. Just plug adaptor. Warranty is from Amazon - they will refund shipping charges if item needs to be returned. Also, some manufacturers like Bosch honour the warranty in Australia. Dyson decides on case by case basis.
On the whole, since statutory warranty in Australia is only one year it is very unlikely that a product will fail within that time.
If you are stil worried, use a credit card that gives you extra warranty to buy.
I have never had any problems with any of the items I have bought from overseas and except for a deep fryer all of them are.

      • +1 vote

Thats not always the case in regards to warranty.
You need to get a written email from Amazon about the warranty cover and shipping charges refund/
I purchased a couple of appliances 2 months ago from amazon.de , only one CS Rep told me they would refund the shipping charges and cover warranty, the other ones told me no warranty.
The one that confirmed warranty also told me they would only do 1 years warranty even though the appliance i bought had 3 years warranty on it.
SO email them before you buy, get an email and make sure you dont loose it.

Regrettably the law is not self-executing.
No one sues over a deep fryer.
