Does anyone have any good/reliable second hand outboard shops in NSW?
Second hand outboards seem hard to come by these days as the new outboard market is still failing to meet demand.

Thanks for the insight, which dealer would you chose for this brand?
Do not buy a parsun.
I've seen heaps of the smaller HP units around, but how about the 40HP and up? Do you have any experience with the maintenance and repair of these units? I've had Mariner, Mercury and Johnson 90HP 2-stroke oil-injected units over the past 20yrs and have had issues with all three brands (the mercury caught fire and almost burnt the whole boat). So having issues with motors seems to be a part of boating (yes…. I do get the motors serviced on time)
@imnotgoingtopayrrp: Yeah, they are garbage. I have a 3.8 2 stroke I got for free, probably paid too much for it. The bigger ones are also garbage.
Buy a 4 stroke from a proper brand, you'll have a much better time, though if you want a 2 stroke, the Yamaha's are always pretty good.
Suggest you do both of these:
Join a few FB pages and lurk, good/bad dealer names will start to pop up. Also lurk at boat ramps and ask owners.
If you are looking at a smaller outboard learn basic diagnostics and repair. Danger Marine on the tube is a local person who has lots of really useful stuff.
Good luck, it’s a jungle out there…..
Have you considered a Parsun? New for the cost of used.
