Dyson vacs- worth it?
Hi all, I have seen people on this site are pretty keen on Dyson Vacuums, despite being more pricey than other brands (eg. via amazon and another site that was offering 30% off).
Just wondering to those who have used it - is it worth the higher price you are paying?
I am looking for a compact vac like this one
Its only a small house (3 bedroom) and to use on wooden floors and tiles plus 2 rugs
Anyone used the DC25 or similar?
mysticbiscuit on 29/08/2012 - 11:42 ¶We purchased a Dyson 2 years ago after going cheap options with various cleaners prior - it's still going strong. I can certainly recommend it - its not just a marketing ploy! You certainly get what you pay for on these :)

Yeah ours (DC 25 upright) is great, particularly use it on carpets, but it's good on all surfaces. The suction is incredible and it picks up much more than our old LG electrolux.
Note: filters need cleaning regularly (3 monthly) or just replace em as we have done. Cost us $60 to replace both filters in our upright after 4 years - which isn't much.
Only issue is that there's this handheld wand but it gets stuck in the flexible pipework (hard to explain) and therefore mines been broken since it was borrowed a few years back, finally had time and found a video by dyson on the internet and fixed it but required a lot of strength.

As I suggested and bernsy confirmed above, the DC29 Allergy Parquet with the additional head for hard floors is great and is a steal for $323 delivered.

If your intending to pay $300+ on a vacume cleaner, I recommed you read up on the reviews before you buy one to avoid disappointment, rather than take one persons recommendation, hence whats suits you, may not suit someone elsehttp://www.amazon.it/s/ref=sr_nr_p_6_1?rh=n%3A524015031%2Ck%...

I own a DC35 Animal for the odd jobs around the house. As said above worth every cent. I own a DC25 for the bigger jobs and equally as happy. It puts a nice dent in your bank account but in my opinion, worth it, as i have delt with the cheaper (read: godfreys) vacuums one too many times.
A friend of mine recently got his hands on the DC44 for review which is due out for release in a few days. And before anyone jumps in, this is not some shameless plug.

I hate uprights, it makes it hard to get into tight nooks and crannies.
Bought the DC29 Allergy Parquet thanks to Gallifrey not long ago, very happy with it.

I think there is a flaw in their cart/shipping algorithm. All the other vacs are 70 euros+ for shipping. I ordered two and it came to 45 euros shipping for BOTH….epic deal, worked out to about 298 each
