    Nice looking portable fireplace

in before random drivel about some poor kid in Illinois with a pixel phone

      • I was waiting for his comments to appear.

single-use product, full of plastics, not environmentally friendly

  • Do these comply with safety regulations ? AS/NZS 3820

    • The earth pin is shown with the plastic coating - excellent work! Probably goes no further than the plug anyway.

I'll throw in my experience - bought a 65 W GAN 4 x usb charger a couple of years ago. One of the USB-C ports died about 2 weeks in. Returned it.

  • I am aware of the risks with Heymix power adaptors. But is it the same with power strips as well? I have 2, using it for more than a year, no issues so far. I am actually thinking of buying this one- any real life experience with fire hazard for power strips from fellow Ozbargainers?

Considering these have USB ports built-in, would the concern over the shoddy quality of their USB power adaptors not also apply to these?

EDIT: I think the comment linked by ihfree says all I need to know about the rest of this brand's products. Say what you will about "oh but the power boards are really basic anyway, so who cares if they cut a few corners with their power adaptors."

Yes these are crap too, an OzBargainer opened one up: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12996125/redir

You can absolutely be sure the same level of dedication to safety and quality products are present in all their devices.

    • Thanks for sharing this. There are some things in life that you shouldn't cheap out on - vehicle tyres, electrical equipment that comply with ADR, insurance, protection ;) etc….. feel free to add anything I missed!

This is a great write up and thank you because I was about to consider buying one.. Nope!

which powerboard brand do you recommend sir ?

      • I'd have a look at the other thread for some recommendations. Personally, I am using Belkin.

Seeing as people keep linking to my comment as evidence of HEYMIX QC issues while others argue it as a one off or that I have no idea what I'm talking about I hereby link the following Google photos album:-
      https://photos.app.goo.gl/tUZArEiDQRczFhaw5

I won't explain any of it, I present it only as proof of what is or isn't contained within one of these things.
Grab your Wowstick and rip one apart yourself if you don't trust the pictures, T10H, Y30 are the "security" bits you'll need.

Yes I know I effectively doxed myself doing this but I'm willing to put my name to it, maybe the sockpuppets can either put up or shut up (where's the importers registered office BTW?)

If anyone from the ESA/fair trading or whatever want to inspect the board in kit form hit me up, I work close by in Parramatta, though I'm confident the stock being sold on Amazon right now is no different.

  • 12! The beacons are lit!

  • As soon as I saw this post I knew there'd be some cracking comments :-)

  • what is so special about this heymix brand ? they can explode your house ? lol

  • Talking Heads - BUUUUUUUUUUURNING DOWN THE HOUSE

  • Keep rolling the dodgy powerboard listings in, its always good to have options for how to reduce your largest investment to a pile of ashes

Being homeless is fun…just ask the ever growing population - dont forget to give the Libs a salute for encouraging asshats to have 3 investment properties and gouge their fellow man for years to support their unrealistic lifestyles, leading to this current nonsense….

Please let me know if these dont at least have the charm and character of the crackling Cyberpower ones, i like an exciting powerboard, them pops and crackles just let you know the 'lectric be working

just bought the same item (i think?) in black off Amazon Prime for $35.24 delivered tomorrow

    • Same but not.

The one you got is 24W
The one advertised here above is 60W.

    • +1

      Your looking at the 24W

      OP put up the 60W

      • +1

        Oh, good point.

  • I bought the 8 outlet 2usb one. When I opened, one of the USBs were missing and rattling around inside, I know this because the whole casing just came apart. From the looks of the inside, I am glad it was rooted and I never plugged anything I own into it.

  • Scary stuff by many current and past comments . Should heymix posts be stopped on ozbargain ?

    • Well you all scared me and I have cancelled the order. If this deal need to be taken out, I am happy to do it.
