LG G3 OLED TV 77" + LG SN4 300W Soundbar $5579.20 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

830

Combines with JB's extra 20% off when you buy a soundbar of the same brand at the same time.

SN4

The 65" G3 had a price drop yesterday, but the rest of the G range wasn't included. Now they are, and I haven't seen the price on the 77" model this low. If you have access to Bupa or somewhere that gives 5% off gift cards, you can get the TV and soundbar for around $5,300 (although I had to wait overnight for the gift cards to come), then fob the soundbar off on Marketplace or similar for an even lower TV price.

Been looking at the 77" G3 for a while and finally pulled the trigger. All G3 series seem to have had a price drop, so the timing of the soundbar discount is good. 55" with cheapest sound bar comes to $2,939.20 + delivery.

  • Is it true there's no delivery at jb hifi for screens over 65 inches?

    • Wasn’t true a year ago

      • Delivery to 4670

"Sorry, one or more of your items are unavailable for delivery. Please remove it above or try a different delivery method."

Maybe there’s just no stock near your area.

    • seems like bad for business

Tried checking out, delivery available @ $59.

    • No idea why they wouldn't do it, maybe phone them up and see if they can order one in for you.

    • Eh? I got my 77" delivered last year from JB?

    • nah i think you have to pay for delivery for anything 65 and over, they wont let you take the screen in your car

      • They won't let you if you cant transport it safely (no laying flat)
So need at least a ute or van. Most suvs or 4wd dont have the height to fit them upright

Gerry is a bit cheaper at $5436.60 for those that want to try and price match or buy.

    OLED 77 and SN4.

  • +2

Have OLED prices gone up in the last year or so? These prices don't seem that exciting.

    • +3

What do you mean? This is a fairly good price.

This is the G3, not the C3. And given this year's G3 is actually a worthy upgrade (check reviews), I'm surprised there's already discounts like this. Gives perspective on the economy and perhaps on the majority of people no longer willing/able to spend big on flashy gear.

      • G3 77" doesn't get the cool extra brightness tech. I think the 65" do.

        • Nope, that's the 83", at least according to the reputable RTINGS.com

"LG promises a 70% brighter image on the G3 over the LG B3 OLED due to the G3's new Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology. The 83-inch variant of the LG OLED G3 doesn't have MLA, so it's promised to be 'only' 30% brighter than the LG B3."

          • @ThatsCheap: Oh cool!

            • @serpserpserp: Yeah no worries, I actually completely forgot about that until you reminded me, and had to check if I made an oopsie. Because I do remember reviewers talking about it.

The LG C range all increased by 10% at JB HiFi to coincide with the TV sale…

    • need ACCC to look into this

That's a great price, I paid this for the C2 last year and without the soundbar :/

Do people actually spend 5K for a bloody TV? If Yes, What in the hell are you guys doing on OZbargain

    • +18

Trying to avoid paying 6K for the same TV

    • It's basically the best TV you can buy. People generally buy it for home theater setups.

      • This one is just for my bedroom 😂

        • +4

Are you sleeping on top of your 77" ?

Had to buy something while I wait in line for my Rolex to be serviced.

The 65" @ $3659.20 is good value! and same price as C3

    HOLD
PPI is crashing. Hold off big item purchases for a few months. You won't regret it.

    • +1

big item purchases - does that include buying a house?

      • it's always time to buy a house silly.

  • +2

Is this an all time low? I will probably wait till Black Friday sale when Sony A95L is likely to be released by then.

  • Do people genuinely pay $5k for a tv and then also want a soundbar with that? This is very odd to me. surely you're paying for a higher end speaker set up with a TV like this??

    • +1

High end speaker set ups are way more niche than high end TVs. It's a lot easier to plug a TV into the wall and go then it is to configure an AV Receiver and wire up 6+ speakers.

      • Fair enough, I'm not sure I agree that it's that hard to plug some wires into an AV, unless you're referring to hiding cables in the wall or something.

        • It's not very hard, but it's still more complex than an HDMI cable. Even changing to the right input on a receiver with a second remote I think is a bridge too far for most people.

      • +1

Plenty of great active speakers that will do just that, that work via eArc too.

They aren’t available at JB, which unfortunately makes people think that Sonos etc is the “high end” stuff

    • Yes.

I mean with this deal I bought the cheapest sound bar and will sell it.

But to answer, yes, I'm in an apartment, and will pair a Sonos arc with sub and Era 300's for a simple and effective atmos setup (not withstanding hate from the neighbours).

The ease of setup, the look, the lack of speaker wires and receiver are the big positives IMO.

  • +1

Very tempting at this price, been looking to replace my old 65" C7 with a larger and newer OLED. Think I'll wait a bit longer and hopefully grab one when TV prices bottom out.

  • +1

It is worth going through your local JB to see what is on clearance too. I grabbed a Q950A sound bar for $499 which qualified for the 20% off bar and TV.

  • -2

I bought a 77" CS with sound bar for $3300, it was $1,600 more than a mini led tcl, can't imagine spending another $2,100 on top…

Over 5 grand I would be looking minimum 83" for that sort of coin.

    My 2 cents.

  • LOL, typical! I bought the 77' C3 last week from Bing Lee as they were doing additional short time discount for the EOFY sale (got it for $5195), couldn't justify the $2k+ difference for the G3. If I'd hung on I could have got the G3 with a sounder for an extra $400! :)

  • Not available in WA

  • Can’t you just return the sound bar unopened a week later for a refund ??
