    sounds very tempting…. if I can afford…

    • I'm kicking myself for buying an 85 C845 last week :(

      • did you collect it? return and buy this if you want to take the chance and go for samsung lottery

        • Already setup and using it. Still a great TV though!

      • 85" is better.

      • At least it has Dolby Vision

  • Would be great deal if you can sell the soundbar for ~ $1K and bring the effective price for TV ~ $4K, unless you're after a top of the range soundbar.

    • Lemme know if you get it. I'll happily buy the soundbar off you for 1K. I'm in NSW BTW :)

Unfortunately, I bought 77" LG CS earlier this year. I might consider if my ST60 Pana Plasma somehow stops working. Bloody thing just won't die.

        • I have a 15 year old Panasonic Plasma that keeps going, and still looks great.

          • @RockCartel: Yep, Plasma had edge over LED (before FALD and mini-LED) for night time viewing due to excellent contrast they offered.

Although longevity was concern with early plasma panels, Panasonic and Pioneer fixed that with later generation panels. These later gen Plasmas were rated at 100,000 hours before reaching half their original brightness. That's about 33 year at 8 hour/day of viewing. It's safe to say I'll replace it well before it dies.

        • My ST60 is also going strong. Bought 11 years ago

Jesus 5 grand for a TV!!!

Guess how much for this TV in 2 years later

    • Welcome to OLED.

    • Guess how much people were spending on crt back in the day… My in laws bought a 68cm crt back in the day for like 5 grand… That's over 10k in today's money

    • There are different product geared towards different groups of consumers. If you want top tier products, you gotta pay, as has always been the case.

First of the OLED TVs Sony XEL-1 with 11" 960×540 pixel screen cost USD 2500 or ~ AUD 3700. So the prices have definitely come down relatively.

Oh damn this is tempting. I've been looking for a 77" or 83" set up with a Dolby Atmos sound system. This ticks the boxes. The price is very right. Now to convince the missus that we "need this" :D

If you don't need the soundbar you can get the cheaper Samsung B450 soundbar ($245) with the 77" S90C. The discounted total is $4087.20 (plus delivery).

  • Nothing wrong with the panel, probably, I have a S95B, awfully thin device, won't neg the deal, but keep that in mind.

  • how good is samsung q70c 85"?
