Was browsing Amazon to look for a decent NVMe M.2 enclosure for my Samsung 980 Pro M.2 NVMe from this deal. I was initially going to go for a cheap one like this Sabrent, but also had my eye on this for a while so just pulled the trigger and purchased.

This does seem pretty expensive for a M.2 USB-C enclosure. Also if you are spending that much, you can somehow afford a 20Gbps enclosure that would match a budget Gen 3x4 NVMe drive read/write speed.

    • 5 sec vs 10 sec data loss prevention?

      • The clear on also has a 'Power Port'

  • these are nice but cant justify dumping $100 into a casing tbh.. ><

If I was going to drop big money on a usb enclosure, I would get one that supports virtual iso

    https://www.amazon.com.au/IODD-Enclosure-Bootable-Virtual-Pr…

    • this is awesome for booting clonezilla! do you know if anything similar exists with a sdcard reader built in? it would solve one of my oldest gripes of copying files to a hdd straight from a camera

    • I've only seen these that support SATA drives…

      • SATA drives are absolutely fine for hosting bootable ISO files 👍

  • Idk why you would ever spend this much on an ssd enclosure.

try getting cheapos that keep dieing or dont work with alot of different nvmes like the orico, they all add up, just get something like this that works with everything.

i got the asus Arion for $80 and it died in 9 months, just overheated. replaced it with this dockcase, so far so good.
