  • Prime Day has been top end GPU heavy

honestly even these are extremely disappointing, mostly just matching lows since a year ago. no substantial progress.

Outside of price errors and the odd hot deal like the 6900 XT, Amazon are only good for picking up cards from AIB's with poor local distribution like XFX and PowerColor

Shows you how strong Synnex and Ingram are in Australia

Its honestly BS and I dont know what legal ground do they have that they arent sued for having a monopoly on the import market.

I see many laptops having fantastic prices in the US and elsewhere but absolutely god forsaken trash price down here. The ROG Strix AE with a 6800M (desktop 6700xt die) with a QHD panel was 1099$ USD often over there and the aussie rrp to this day (this is a 2 year old machine) is higher by a whole grand.

        • i think it's more of a lack of financial incentives than legal grounds, as is the case with most (potential) civil matters.

it's a notoriously low margin industry, and people with the capital for a legal battle and then to order enough and handle logistics for enough quantity for amd/nvidia to care elect to put it in more profitable ventures.

        • The ROG Strix AE with a 6800M (desktop 6700xt die) with a QHD panel was 1099$ USD

          Thats a good price

          • @cobknob: Yeah, if only our Harvery Norman/JB Hifi does deals as good and as often as Bestbuy does in the States…

      • The reason is more that Amazon makes feebay look like a charity (up to 50% commission). PC components have always been razer thin margins for aibs+retailers with the lion's share going to amd/intel/nvidia.

      • Synnex and Ingram are in Australia

Mongrels! Remem getting my Asus 9600XT many, many years back. Pricing was a joke than and it still is now.

      • What's Synnex and Ingram here?

        • The middle men. Wholesaler/distributor. As a retailer/business you order through them in oz.. Or if your smart you just get specials through other stores/ebay for PC builds cause they've monopolized pc hardware here.

  • Too big for my case, need something 269mm length or below. I'll have to keep an eye out for a dual fan 6650 XT.

I got this card for $340 with no game offer.
Around this price makes it the best value card on the market. If you want Starfield then it's awesome value.

Also, I undervolted from 1200mv to 1125mv and it dropped the temp significantly ~~10C (I have a small case), 1100mv was too many crashes and 1 crash at 1120. Just use adrenalin as afterburner has turned to crap.

    • Good to know. I'm building a small pc as well. was thinking 6600xt.

    Nice price,
I'm picking up the 6600 in a build sometime this week for 291. I wonder what trying to swap it out for this will look like, as this is a much better match for my CPU though i still wont game a whole lot.

    • Which CPU are you running might I ask? I was about to get the 6600 but I think I might try this instead.
Can it play Quake with the Tenebrae engine?? 😁

So this or the RTX 3060 for $419?

    • I love to know too lol

Very similar performance. 6650XT maybe 5-10% better and lower power consumption. 3060 has been years old and 6650XT released not long ago. So buy newer one.
