Tempur Symphony Pillow: Small $179, Medium $189, Large $199 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

60

Was looking for a nice pillow at Bedshed/HN and decided upon this lovely memory foam pillow just to be shocked at the >$400 price tag in store.

Looking at their website and speaking with staff it seems there's some sort of deal going on, not sure what the end date could be, and it isn't displayed as a 'sale' but I thought this was a good deal after looking at previous prices for this pillow, and what the competitors are listing it for.

My first deal, let me know if I missed anything.

All jokes aside, you would be surprised to know the health benefits of a quality, good pillow. I would not cheap out on bedding stuff, afterall, you spend a third of your life in bed.

Whilst not this specific pillow, I do like the ergonomic low profile pillows from Ikea $79, different ones depending on if you are a side or stomach sleeper.

In saying that, I don't know the specifics of your $20 pillow so I'll try not to judge.

      • Here's a USD$2900 mattress for side sleepers I saw on youtube yesterday. https://sonusleep.com/ Interesting concept I thought.

I like Dunlopillo Latex pillows for half the price.

$4 cheaper at sister store Domayne for what it's worth. Looks like same delivery fee for me either way, though of course some people may have easy physical access to one store but not the other.

    • They do price match with Domayne..you can do this online. Super easy. I did this two weeks ago to get Tempur Millennium pillow for my partner.

    • I'm not sure - I had a look at this while in store but I got weirded out by the 2017/2018 models. Pillows aren't really a thing you should buy without physically trying anyway.

    • The "Tempur-pedic" branding indicates the US domestic model (unsurprisingly since Amazon US is the seller) and I believe the pillow is manufactured there, whereas the models sold here and simply branded as "Tempur" are made in Denmark where Tempur are originally based.

I can't say for sure that the Danish-made models are superior, but when combined with the weirdness of the 2017/18 model labelling for the US model, I think I would be more comfortable buying locally.

      • the issue is here as well,
We've had 4 symphonys from 2010-2020 - and the ones purchased approx 2018 onwards (from Snooze not Amazon) are much lighter in weight and do not last as long. The density/etc is not the same.

      • Amazon AU is the seller i'm seeing for $177.00
        Amazon US is $175.67

  • I've owned multiple symphony pillows, and as per some reviews @ amazon (I bought mine from snooze though) - the pillow changed somewhere around 2017/2018 or whatever. It is inferior to the old pillow and I wouldn't recommend it now.

  • I got this pillow a few months ago (for $150), and quite like it. Only problem is it’s hard to find a pillow protector that fits correctly

      get the Protect-A-Bed Tencel protectors
they come in a few sizes and fit them easily. Stops all moisture

My first latex pillow lasted over 40 years!
The next one around 5 years.
    Onto my third.

They don't make them like they used to!

A $600 coffee grinder, followed shortly thereafter by a $200+ pillow.

It won't be the supposedly kissed on the dick Boomers buying these. Another conflict for millennials and gen z to struggle with.

    • Theres literally a comment just a little bit above yours which very strongly suggests otherwise

      Why the anger? Slept poorly?

      • Can't stop wondering which comment you mean.

    • It's one of the wealthiest places in the world, I wouldn't blame the boomers. Lots of people are spoiled in the lucky country.

  • I prefer tempur original pillow, i wonder when i can get deal like last time, missed that one.

  • I use this now, used to work at HN so got it for free from a tempur rep, best pillow that exists. But flip it upside down, shoulder fits underneath slightly and my arm runs up the side also slightly underneath the pillow. It’s no joke
