The rates may not be competitive across the country, but i know they definitely are in Canberra.

      Really depends on how much your solar system produces.

      Origin offers 12c uncapped solar fit if you know who to ask, can outweigh the higher usage charges that come with that plan.

    I found this company called Tango Energy, and for NSW, its 30% cheaper than Origin Prices

      read bad reviews for this company. I will stick with Origin. I also sign up with deals through Fiftyup etc and getting a $150 credit after 1st March. Got one This month as well for my previous plan. The Origin Go one has to be a new customer to get the credit, but doesn't seem that way with the Fiftyup, or One Big Switch Origin deals

      yes, has to be done via the link, or apply using the $150 cashback deal from One big switch (sign up to be able to get their deals to your inbox)…just stay on the deal until at least 1st March and you will get a $150 cashback as well as 11% off the standard rate. Just click on the link on their website and log into your Origin account to change plan

                  @evasive: maybe. Without seeing what your page shows, I don't know. I just know when I go to their main web page, without signing in, it shows a deal for Origin. Obviously you have to either click on the link in their emails to access the actual deal, or log in.
                  Actually, come to think of it, I have a feeling that this deal isn't available in certain states…prob because those states already have cashback deals through their state govts in various ways. NSW only have that for pensioners and low income households I think.

    It's been a while, sorry if I'm commenting on an old thread.
    I switched to Origin in December using a similar plan to this, and already got their 150$ credit, however I haven't received my first bill yet as it's not 3 months. However, I found another supplier that's cheaper (Globird) and I wanted to switch to them.
    Is it ok to switch to another supplier even when I haven't receive my first bill?

      Can't say without knowing your usage. It's a decent rate for SA, but do a comparison on Energy Made Easy. Depending on your usage Globird for example is likely to be cheaper:

    Unfortunately Solar Feed in Tariff is 5c on this plan, as oppose to 10c on Solar Boost but the rates are cheaper (37.25c/kWh vs 29.06c)

          Yeah I switched and used a code from the referral link, so It's $10 credit a month for 12 months.

          No other supplier came close to the rates :(

    Seems expensive and found the deal on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/851341 to be much better. Comes with $200 Credit on First Bill as part of warm welcome plus another $50 for referral bonus for switching electricity to Momentum Energy (also get another $50 bonus credit if you switch gas too but wasn't worth it for me).
    Note that if you are switching to Momentum Energy deal as posted on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/851341 - you will need the referral code & their full name to get the $50 referral bonus.

      Same deal..shocking day rates. Work on the credit is chewed up at $35 per month with the inflated day rate. But another option for the churn n burn world.

    FYI - price gaugers and barely pay any tax. In FY23, Origin Energy paid taxes totalling 1.67% of their total revenue. While a school teacher or a nurse pays 30%-40%.

    AGL and Origin Energy are charging consumers much more than large businesses and beyond any price differential that can be justified by differences in supply costs.

    Not good for me and appears like most in VIC
    ~5c more per kWh
    ~25c more daily supply charge
    ~2.3c less feed in.

    Sydney based - I can see the rates do go down from my current electricity rates on Origin, but the Solar FIT goes down from my current 10c (for first 1247 kwH then 5c thereafter) to 3c.

    Is there any calculator or something to determine if its worth the switch?

    Right now I've just changed the gas over
