Gimme ur 4090 PC build deal buddy

  • Can I upgrade the graphics card?

    • +1

      Doesn't look like it.

      I give you permission.

Ok, I think this is the best deal I’ve seen for 3 years. We’ll played.

    • It's slightly worse performance-wise than the 11400F/3060 deal from earlier this year for the same price, but with a significantly better mobo and ssd.

That being said, I would do some research on BPC before considering placing an order. Check my comment history, I had a pretty horrible experience with them.

      • Yea I've heard of this before. Looking to purchase this deal but a bit skeptical about the mixed opinions on BPC. Having a look through your comment history, it seems like the big issue is that they could take upwards of a month to deliver the PC?

        • Not OP, but as someone else who ordered a PC from them a couple of months back: yeah, it took about a month and a half to arrive. No problems with the PC itself, but be prepared for an unreasonable wait to get it.

          • @ZoboCamel: Alright fair enough, thanks that's quite useful information. Buying this PC for an older relative considering it's 1TB NVMe plus has the specs to last years without slowing down. Price is super competitive to any "office" PCs too. Might have to look elsewhere as they want the PC now.

It does show "in stock at bpc tech" so I'm still considering giving this a try :)

@Zackeroo: It's worth mentioning the rep here did say recently on another post that they moved warehouse and have resolved a lot of their communication and shipping problems from previous deals. I would want to see replies from more recent purchasers personally before ordering, but to each their own

            • +1

@Zackeroo: If it's a PC for an older relative then I think you'd be much better off spending $400-500 on an ex-office SFF than this budget gaming PC, despite the bang for buck on this being much higher.

(unless your relative is a cool gaming grandma)

              • +1

@coxymla: I was looking into the ex-office PCs but was a little sceptical about buying a used PC for them. Funny enough, the couple I'm buying it for does actually play a few games on it, so yup a "cool gaming grandma" will be using this PC haha. Case looks pretty fancy too compared to any office PC, and I see absolutely no reason why an R5 5500 + 16GB RAM + 1TB NVME wouldn't be a great combo for an office PC.

                Edit: Oh… It's sold out already :)

Might have to check out those Office PCs again lol

The delivery of the PC wasn't a huge issue, but it did take 400% longer than they quoted which would irk anyone.

My main issues were the obvious lack of quality assurance done on the thing. XMP was off, and if they had attempted to turn it on they would have figured out the RAM they installed was dud.

The RAM they gave me also was not the RAM advertised, and a mild downgrade to what I paid for.

They stated Windows 10 would be installed. I messaged and asked for Windows 11 to be installed (not activated), they said sure. Arrived with no OS at all, and further still with TPM 2.0 and similar options disabled which prevented Windows 11 from installing without buggering around in the BIOS.

Communication was almost non-existent. Getting anybody to reply to me was like pulling teeth. The OzB BPC rep stated here that they would be giving out 'freebies' with the orders that were taking longer than quoted to be picked, built and shipped. I got a motherboard 'upgrade' but not sure if that was the gift or not, lol.

It took a further two months, by the way, to resolve the dud RAM issue. They did cover shipping both ways though, to their credit.

          Another thing that still irks me is that there was a game redemption for the 3060 at the time but when I asked BPC about it, this is what they said;

Me: In addition to my last email, could you please provide a receipt or invoice specifically for the PNY graphics card so that I can proceed with the current PNY graphics card game redemption?

BPC: As your order is for the whole system, there is no specific invoice just for the PNY GPU, but we can provide the list of build material to you.

PNY did not accept that so there was no game redeemed.

They also gave me a $10 credit for the RAM being wrong, which I doubt I'll ever use as I doubt it would even cover getting something shipped.

Oh, and another thing, the BPC rep here advised asking the sales team to just ship the components so we could get our PCs faster and just build them ourself. I thought, "sweet great idea I've built heaps of PCs before, this is great" and then the sales team wanted an additional $50 or so in shipping costs for that to happen. I didn't buy an ultra budget PC to pay extra lol

          • @mojadu: Excellent, wasn't sure why you were being downvoted before in your previous comment, but this detailed reply has not only clarified things for you, but has allowed other users like me to make a better decision here. Thanks!

Way better than anything on Facebook.

facebook/gumtree and decent pc deals are oil and water, Impossible

      • +2

this price would get you a 4770k and 1060 on fb lol

        • +1

Especially Perth market, where everyone slaps on some RGB fans on a 1060 + 8th gen Intel CPU and advertise it as a $1k 'HIGH END GAMING PC'

          • +1

@OneDollarDucky: cant forget "FORTNITE FAST INTEL I7 NVIDIA GAMING PC"

            • @CHUNITHM Luminous: It's not that bad. In Sydney you could get around the same specs (used of course) for this price but with a 1060 swapped in for the 6600 and the I/O insert is probably missing lol

  • +1

    nice 1080p build for sure

  • +2

Any chance to upgrade the gpu to a 6800?

  • Do you have any deals on just motorboard and CPU combos. Or only pre-built ?

  • "Upgrade to B550M Motherboard with PCIe 4.0 Support +$19" What is the likely motherboard model for this?

    • +1

      on the last 5600 6800 pc, it was a gigabyte b550m k

  • About to pick up my rig from last promotion looking forward to it 😊

  • Would this be able to even play Starfield?

    • +1

      Barely

6600 only just meets the 5700 minimum requirement

    • TechFast every day of the week

6650 XT is the best value 1080p card

  • Guys this or the techfast R5 5500, RX 6650XT, AMD A520, 16GB 3200MHZ $699 deal? Looking at the GPU, 6650xt seems to better than 6600, but haven't looked at computers for a while so just want some second opinons

    • Also thinking about this deal. I'd probably get this and upgrade the motherboard / ram and maybe CPU. 6650XT is slightly better but upgrades are cheaper at BPC than Techfast. YMMV

    • About the same, I think this one is a bit better in dollar value. 6650xt is only 50 dollars more expensive.

  • +3

Compared to the last 6800 deal $300 less gets you

    6800 downgraded to 6600
    700W PSU downgraded to 500W
    Roughly equal case without RGB

Forgetting the PSU and case, new 6600's are $300 so BPC is pricing the value of the 6800 at $600 which is well off

This is a $599 build that is gimped for future upgrades due to the trash tier 3 phase mobo and small PSU

If you only play older titles and eSports games, this build is OK

But if you are planning to play Starfield and other new releases, get ready for performance less than a PS5 or Series X console

    • The disrespect lol. 6600 is enough for 1080p. It's actually way above average in terms of the global userbase of pc gaming, most people only has 1060 or 1650.

      Chatgpt sounds like pcmasterrace.

      • If you buy a new pc, you want something a bit more future proof. Is 6600 really enough ?

        • Yeah, why not?

Future proofing is a fruitless journey. You can never predict what is the requirement needed for tomorrow. It may never need an upgrade for 5 years like the pascal generation, or it may need a brand new gpu tomorrow because we've moved to full AI asset generated hardcore ray traced games, in which even the 7900xtx is not good enough.

If you're paying 700 bucks for the best bang for buck pc (though the rx 6800 pc is also really good price), trying to future proof will just lead to unnecessary spending. Few years later, the midrange will be even more efficient and feature than our flagship today anyways. So, horses for courses.

          • @Wonderfool: Its a hard call, depends on what games you play.
I personally would pick 6800XT over 6600XT, but that is because I have a 4K monitor.

            • @congo: Precisely, horses for courses. The 6600 is way better today than the 1060 was back in 2018, and I was pretty happy with the 1060.

Heck, the only reason I got a 6800 is because Minecraft with LoD mod is an unoptomised mess. Would've been fine with my 6600 otherwise.

  • Does this qualify for the free HP Pavillion gaming keyboard and mouse for local pick up orders by 8 August?

  • I'm looking for a cheap-ish gaming PC pretty much just to play fortnite - have been playing on a surface laptop which gets me by but the FPS is so bad… any suggestions?

  • Hi im interested in a basic PC for my son to play ARK evolved- would this PC be ok, here are the specs to play Ark evolved: https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/ark-…

    • If just for gaming (don't specifically need pc for other reasons) you could get a used playstation or xbox, even the games, off something like gumtree.
      Don't know your location, but e.g: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ark+evolved/k0
