USA to AUS Personal Goods Parcel Shipping

Hi All,

Just wanting to check if anyone has recommendations on some reasonably priced courier/shipping/postage companies to send approx. 20-40kg of personal goods (household, books, clothes, shoes etc.) from New Jersey City, USA (07307 post code) to Brisbane Australia (4000 post code).

Checked some options online such as DHL, FedEx etc. but quite costly.

Thanks!

    • Oh, I didn't see that post.

I'm more looking to send personal goods over from USA to AUS. Not buying new things in USA to send here.

  • I'm also searching for something similar as I have about 50Kg sitting in Boston which needs to be brought down to Melbourne.

As you mentioned DHL/FedEx or even shopping forwarders such as MyUS would end up being too expensive as they all use air freight. What you need is a sea shipper but most of these services would only quote for container loads which is quite excessive for your/and my requirement. In my case I still haven't invested enough time on this but search for "LCL shipping from US to Australia" and you'll get few hits on Google and some even provide online quotes. BTW LCL stands for Less than Container Load.

    • Wow, awesome will look into it online. Thank you so much @websterp

Will report back if I find anything good :)

      • +1

If you don't mind the hassle, opt for port to port instead of door to door delivery and this way you can get even cheaper rates but obviously you need to drop it off at their warehouse and pickup from the ports in Brisbane after paying any duty.

    • I know a good sea shipper for LCL, but they are waiting to fill a container so it might be a bit of a wait if you're in a rush. Can pass on details if you're interested.

      • Do you know where the container is located and is this an individual or a business as I too am interested?

        • A business, I'll pm you.

  • Jersey baby! Unfortunately can't provide a shipping solution, but best of luck!

  • What kind of quotes are you receiving at the moment?
How much do you realistically want to spend to get it all here?

I'll then be able to provide some options, or tell you if you're dreamin'.
