Referral Bonus - A$20 Each for Referrer and Referee (after Referee Deposits Minimum $100) @ Virgo.co

124

I found a sign up bonus for a relatively new crypto exchange (9 months).

Pretty straightforward

Sign up with referral code
Do KYC for initial $5
Deposit $100 for the extra $15
$20 total
Note: referral only credited 12am the following day.

Also some users have complained they been reffered by people who haven't done KYC themselves. You both need to do KYC.

Referral Links

Referral: random (23)

Fixed reward scheme: $5 each to both referrer and referee after the referee passed verification. Extra $15 each to both after referee funds minimum $100 in the first deposit.

Shared reward scheme: Referrer will earn 10% of Virgo’s revenue from the spread of each trade on the referee’s side. Referee will receive up to $20 for verification and fund deposit.

Never got mine from the previous offer… customer support is non-existent either. Not worth the hassle imo.

  • I got 90 dollars referring last time. It definitely works and payment is instant but at the start I had concerns because of the delay with processing deposits. But it's because Up use an initial for middle name instead of full name.
I would never use them for anything else, but free money is free money.

    • Names are not important when doing bank deposits. You can put anything in the name field and it will successfully be deposited. What is important is the bank account number, BSB and/or PayID since these are unique or reference field.

      • You're wrong. All of these companies require the full name matching on the account with them and the bank. It's all crypto exchange kyc

        • You're wrong and/or confused.

KYC is different vs providing whatever in the name field of a bank transfer once you have passed KYC. They don't even know the name you supplied when doing a bank transfer and funding your account. Go send someone a bank transfer right now with your OzBargain username to see if it clears. It will. Send to this exchange from another bank account or from someone else's bank account. It will clear.

          It's all crypto exchange kyc

Wrong. Not all exchanges require KYC.. Mine doesn't. None of my BTC in cold storage has ever been bought through an exchange with KYC.

@Lucille Bluth: I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of the "name" in this context. The question is not that it clears, the question is that the receiving company accepts and makes it available.

You are correct that whatever the sender puts in the Name field does not matter and doesn't get transmitted.
However when the receiver gets the funds, if you didn't know, the sending bank usually attaches the name of the account owner to the transaction. Some banks attach your full name, but some may use initials.

This name is what the receiver (In this case Virgo) uses to match the owner's account as an additional security measure. If the name doesn't match (like with initials) they will do further checks/manual verification which delays the funds being made available.
This is not unusual, other well known financial apps like Moomoo and Webull do this too when you try to deposit funds.

they even restricted my account won't let me deposit money to get sign up bonus.

Did not get the full promised referral bonus last time. Customer service non existant.

  • We need more AU on-ramps, so this could be good
But just need to remain wary of exchanges

BNB crash coming soon, binance may or may not survive if it does

  • What's the app for?

  • Strange how the only one referral bonus I have from referring someone from OzB here only is only $10. Doesn’t make sense why would someone only KYC and then not proceed to deposit $100 for to get the remaining $20 referral bonus.

  • Worked no probs for me. Also has good spreads for AUD trading and is always payid (basically). I use the webpage vs the app.

  • Thanks OP. Worked as described. Both the deposit and withdrawal are instant.

Never got mine, Virgo refuses to credit.
    Australian support does not exist.

  • I opened my account in early July and my account is still stuck on "You will be notified by email when your account is ready!". Emailed them 4 weeks ago about it and never received a reply.

Not expecting anything from this mob anymore, but out of principle lodged a complaint with AFCA.

    • AFCA came back saying Virgo Australia is not a member of AFCA, so can't lodge a complaint there.
And ASIC doesn't handle individual complaints.
So you can apparently start a company taking money from Australians and opt not to join AFCA to avoid complaints?
