Does it work on animals and humans?

    • +1

      No.

    • +1

It only measures temperature at surface so the reading won't be accurate for human body temperature measurement.

      From the description

NOTE: This is not a medical thermometer. Do not use to take temperature of forehead. Infrared thermometers can't measure the internal temperature of a human, object or animal; Infrared thermometers are only able to read external surface/skin temperatures. They are not able to read internal body temperature. The measured temperature for humans or animals will not be correct.

Its the accuracy that's the problem. These things are great but they are usually off by up to 5c. You can get cheap infrared thermometers that are specifically calibrated for measuring between 35-45c and they work well enough to be useful while still being out by up to half a degree.
Most reliable point for measuring I've found is directly into the eye (with the laser turned off ofcourse)

Yes. You just need to think it does.

Whether at home, indoor, outdoors, or at work, as long as you think, the temperature gun will give you accurate results, you will find how interesting it is.

  • Is it okay to measure water temp

    • +2

I have an AliExpress one I use for cooking.

Use it to measure temperature of caramel.

      Works well

      • +2

Same, I got mine to check oil temp.

  • Got one a while ago and it works well.

  • I got this to map out my bbq plate, and because it will go well with my Dewalt gear.

  • When you use it to scan the food, does it create any bad things in the food?

    • If you use it on food, the food will become self aware and try to take over the world.

Source: I tried it. Luckily I only tried it on pizza with pineapple on it.

      • You win the interwebs today McFly. Well played.

    • There have been unverified reports of nuclear fusion, but I would see that as good, not bad.

      • Better than stealing from Libyans!

It's a sensor that captures infrared light, it doesn't emit anything. The laser pointer can be turned off, and that's just for working out where you're pointing.

Ignore the others. It's not a stupid question, and I bet they're making a joke out of it because they're not sure of the answer themselves.

        it doesn't emit anything

Well by definition, a laser pointer emits photons, oh wise one.

        Thanks so much!

Would have thought it would be better to spend a few bucks more and get one from a recognised brand? https://www.amazon.com.au/ThermoPro-TP30-Thermometer-Tempera…

    • Wondering that too. Can anyone suggest. Almost pull the trigger.
