I've got a couple eco drives that are 15 years old and still perfect!

      • Mine over 16 now. Zero issues.

          Is that really a revelation?

      • My ecodrive died at 12 years :(

        • Might simply need a new capacitor?

  • Oris big crown pro pilot 1899 from 3600 is a sexy watch https://starbuy.com.au/oris-propilot-mens-watch-01-752-7760-…

  • there is an arnie on special also for $399 but it has blue band and bezel … so not the commando look …hmm start collecting arnie’s now i have enough samurais ?

  • Saw those citizens, look good for the price - im also a fan of eco-drive.

Interesting they also got my Oris Aquis date for $1,999. Hard to sell it for $1500ish on eBay/marketplace and it's been serviced as well.

Also prefer the normal Arnie (or better yet the JDM tuna).

    • Could be people don't appreciate your service history https://www.chrono24.com.au/oris/---id29258495.htm

      • This is true, until they have to fork out for one and send to melbourne, looking at $500+ and 8-12 weeks.
Woudln't buy another Oris put it that way - they don't allow anyone else to service their watches nor supply parts.

Ps. that one insn't in AUS but looks alright. I don't exactly always trust crono24 and haven't bothered with that platform but could put it up. I think 1400$ would be alright as they have gone up in price. FB marketplace is a pain, a lot of people somehow have 'joined in 2023' or not in the country.

        • servicing swiss auto watches in general is expensive as it’s labour intensive more than cost of parts, it’s why my auto omegas don’t get worn. japanese autos in general cost less than a swiss auto service so probably throw away pricing e.g $400 Japanese auto.

          • @garage sale: Exactly mate, if you had a decent Japanese auto you could easily replace the movement with an nh35 etc, and even do it yourself once you have the basic tools. Some watch makers won't do Seiko mods though. The cheap homages you could just get a new watch.

Kind of why I was trying to sell my oris Aquis, as it has been serviced (and is a bit too big ok my wrists these days but no takers).

Even with Tissot you're meant to service every 6 years and I don't tend to wear that one either (but should).

Lot of value and fun just wearing cheaper watches.
