Ignore the negging haters (inferiority complex anyone?), England all the way. And of course we've already seen our team win a major tournament just last year!

Many Aus fans have supported the Matildas for 3 whole weeks you know!

  • Wait….didn't Messi already won the WC ?

    • Now it's down to his women's team counterpart, Kleen

  • Let’s go girls!!!!!

    • -3

Shame it's at Maroochydore, they have flip up seats and for the amount of time I'll be standing I'm sure I'll stack it

    • Literally sitting on the edge of your seat

    Let's go England.

I'm with you. Being negged for saying nothing more than you would like your country to win the game, what a time to be alive.

Come on England! Good luck to all Matildas fans also, well those who cared about them before this month at least. Bandwagoners can do one!

No excuses for Matildas, home advantage, five of England's Euros winning team not at this tournament (including the captain and player of the tournament from the Euros) and their best player of this tournament suspended for this game.

It's now or never, as the next world cup will be much tougher as more strong teams emerge from around the world. The growth of the women's game is really impressive.

Despite supporting England I'll win a tidy sum if Matildas do it as got on them at very generous odds a couple of weeks ago.

    • Football needs goal keepers, not gate keepers.

Bollocks. Poms were firm favourites, and were permitted to foul with gay abandon, zero consequences. Same old England, always cheating.

      • England saved their best performance of the comp for tonight, tactically perfect. That said Australia had their chances and have had a great tournament. Kerr's goal outstanding and she was very good second half.

Nobody has had more of this sort of heartache that England supporters though!

Poor defence and squandered opportunities. Also, cheating physical tactics allowed by the weak ref.

          • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: Free kicks and yellow cards were given for fouls. Aus had 9 free kicks to 1 in the first half. It's not cheating it's part of the game and I saw Aus using very similar tactics against France a few days ago.

  • This time it’s personal colonial

    • No rivalry exists in football, England have never played Australia in men's or women's other than in meaningless friendlies.

Even in the sports where it does exist (cricket, rugby I guess) its very one sided and driven by an inferiority complex.
