How Buy-back works

Determine what you want to resell. Only unmodified, completely assembled second hand IKEA furniture is accepted for buyback. Refer to the lists of eligible/ineligible products below. For ineligible items, consider reuse, donation, selling via online marketplaces or recycling.
Use the buy-back estimator tool. Find what IKEA furniture you’re interested in selling and tell us its condition. You’ll get an estimate of what IKEA will pay to buy back your furniture.
Make sure your furniture is clean and assembled, ready for its new home. Bring it and your estimate to the Exchange and Returns section of your nearest IKEA store.
Pat yourself on the back. You’re helping us prolong product life, promote second hand furniture and waste less. Thanks for contributing to making IKEA more circular and to becoming people and planet positive!
Your IKEA Refund card can be used in any Australian IKEA store, or on IKEA.com.au. Your refund card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

Got $300 for my tv unit, purchased 7 years before for $400. It was pretty amazing, I thought I could get $50 max.

  • Excellent
going to pawn the contents of my house

  • My ugly friheten couch not included :((

  • Do you have to carry the preloved furniture without disassembling it for their staff to check?

As our sofa is bigger than our car.

yes, they want it assembled. I guess, because it may not survive one more assembling process.

    • yes put it on the trolley

That's correct. My experience with Ikea buyback has been horrible - dissasemble, load in car, take to Ikea, assemble for staff to check and point out that its not clean enough/scratched to reject the buyback, dissamble, load in car, go home, assemble/throw.

Too much effort for a gain which is not guaranteed

  • I haven't been in an Ikea store forever, do they just sell this stuff within their stores again?

I've been looking for a sofa for my office on gumtree/marketplace and haven't found anything good, I might check this out.

      yes, the 'as-is' section
