  • I have one that I haven't opened and not sure how to return. Pretty sure it's past the return for a refund date (it's been over a month). Does anyone know the process, I can't seem to find it via their website.

Yes I've read this, I can't seem to find it still through their portal. All good, appreciate the response.

        • This is in the Starlink account under the support section

You can return any mount or accessory purchased from the Starlink Shop within 30 days of receipt for a full refund of your payment. If you are outside the 30 day window, you are unable to return your order.

Sounds like you are out of luck.

However, you could probably just sell it on to someone else, Facebook etc. They should be able to activate the service in their own account since they already have the hardware.

Otherwise, you could just hand the account over and change the details.

Note - Cannot confirm if that actually works, just a thought

          • @geekcohen: Ah shoot, ok no worries. I was hoping they have like a return section like amazon/ebay etc. Print a label, send it back etc. Thanks again

            • @h0dl: Well they do, but only if you are in the 30 day window

If you are within the 30 day window from when your kit was delivered, and service has been cancelled within your account, a return shipping label will be sent to the email listed on your account.

              • @geekcohen: Ok, you're missing my point. It's not as straight forward as you're making it seem. I can't find the return policy in the portal. There is no return label that you can print off, unless I'm missing something.

I get your point. No need to get knarky.

I am just passing on what is in the Starlink portal.

And I didn't receive a shipping label once I cancelled the service.

Possibly because you are outside of the 30 day period?

              • @geekcohen: And I didn't receive a shipping label once I cancelled the service.

You can call Starlink support @ 1800 954 824. Speak to a customer service rep and ask for a return label sent to your email tied to the Starlink account. Once a service ticket is set-up for you, you can chat with them using the messages tab on the app.

They will send you a DHL return label, but you can also ask them for an Auspost return label if you have no nearby DHL service center available. Alternatively, you can just ask DHL to pick up your Starlink and they won't charge you for it.

      Hope this helps.

      • Many thanks. I've tried calling the support line, which is basically an automated answering machine advising that someone will come back to me within 3 days. Will continue to research thanks.

        • I've got a callback from them a couple of hours after I made the call so it shouldn't be long now.

It's not the hardware charge for me, if it was lower than $139 a month I'd probably hop on being rural

    • +3

Generally, residents who have no other alternative (like crap NBN Fixed Wireless or Skymesh) will go for it and pay the fee.

$139 is still about the same price as NBN 250/25 which is $129 via AussieBroadband. Starlink is about 200/20 at times, whilst it does vary, you generally get over 100mbps.

      • +5

You are also rural where anything over 20 down is literally gods gift

        • This

        • +2

I think this is the bit people need to remember. yeah its (profanity) expensive to Fixed Wired NBN in metro areas… but rural youre either getting jack shit or shit-all.

It isn't just the speed it is the 30-40ms latency compared to 600ms+ from SkyMuster satellites.

      • In guess that's true I pay 59.95 for 50/10 and that's when it wants to go that speed

    • $139 isn't too bad I reckon. The only thing stopping me getting Starlink now is that their RV plan is a whopping $179 per month. That's just a tad too high for me.

      • Yeah, their Roam plan. Still pretty good compared to have Starlink at home plus paying $50 or $60 for 4G/5G data.
