  • I get about $181 after discounts but looks like a good deal for a good 4K IPS monitor.

  • It's always so funny to me that there's a market for over 1080p screens at 13.3". Most reasonable distance makes it feel sharp enough at 1080p as is.

    • Apple: Hold my laptops.

    • My tab s7+ has a 2k 12.4" screen. My portable 14" monitor has a 4k screen.

      • My gpd win max 2 has a 1440p screen for better 720p scaling, it has 10.1". It doesn't making it any less excessive lol.

    • TBF I use my MSI Studio 14 at 100% scaling, 1440p screen. Allows me to side by side multi-task like it's my old 17inch LG Gram

  • Just a few years ago 100% sRGB colour gamut sports a premium even for desktop monitors. Now everything says 100% sRGB colour gamut. Is it true? What's the catch?

Panels got better. Remember when the best monitors were those Korean ones with bad stands? They had high resolutions and high refresh rates. Now all the big brands do it.

The other thing to consider is that they could be like Chinese lumens and may not truly be calibrated to 100%.

        • Omg yes. The 43" 4K monitor was a killer.

          • @Clear: I'm still rocking mine today, it's great 😁 There was even a firmware update to add Freesync support a few weeks after I received it 💪

4k at 13” is kinda pointless, id rather 1080p or 1440p with higher refresh rate

    • I agree. I've upset a lot of OzBargainers saying the same thing. This kind of monitor is what people message me the most about.

      • wonder if they're real 4k, or some sort of fake 4k with fewer actual pixels

        • …like 3840 horizontal instead?

      • I share your logic - what sort of portable monitor do you think is right given this?

I suppose it also depends on what you are hooking it up to. For example, many laptops still run 60Hz, so a secondary display that's higher could potentially be a little pain to configure.

      • If you're on Windows the refresh rate is a drop down in display settings 😉

That is correct. However, it is still possible to experience screen tearing and frame rate drops. Probably not much of a problem for most intended uses - productivity reasons, but still worth being aware of it. Apparently there is an update coming soon for Windows 11 to help reduce some of these issues.

@carlordau: screen tearing and frame drops has nothing to do with monitor, if your gpu is outputting frames higher than your refresh it will tear (without gsync or freesync) simple solution to this is to cap your fps a few frames below the refresh rate.

Frame drops is when your computer (usually gpu) can’t handle the game or video you are trying to play

            • @viper8548: I only mentioned having two monitors with different framerates. I didn't say it was caused by the monitors at all. I only said that there can sometimes be extra config (i.e. little pain) required to make it work.

  • Need a deal dor a screen suitable as a statscreen. 7" to 10" probably

  • it's not a zsus i ain't buying.
